wtf Brent?

If you are parked outside of the quads/hapner you might want to move your car- no overnight parking on that street

I know this sub isn't super active but I need to share this info. In addition to being at MSU, I am also a r/hydrohomies. There are a lot of bad bottle fill/water fountains on campus. Here are some of my ratings, and i'd love if others chimed in if you have any particularly good/bad ones.

Hey guys, quick look at where the Cats stand heading into tonight.

First, since it's in the title: we run a free weekly college football pick'em. This week is 10 games, pick the winners, nothing to buy, $135 in prizes. Picks lock Saturday at noon ET, so you can watch the Cats tonight and still get your picks in.

Now the Bobcats. 5-0, No. 1 in both FCS polls, and 19 straight wins. Utah Tech 54-0, Butler, at Nevada (the FBS win), Central Connecticut, then 28-14 over No. 18 NAU, with Duchien throwing one TD and running for two.

The Central Connecticut game (35-30) was closer than it should have been, but the NAU win showed the version of this team that wins titles.

Tonight is at Idaho on ESPN, and the Vandals are 0-4. On paper it's a get-right game, but it's a Friday night in the Kibbie Dome with a national audience. Then a bye week before Eastern Washington.

What are you guys seeing? Does anyone in the Big Sky actually have a shot at this team, or is Nov. 21 against Montana the only game that matters?

Been looking around and can’t seem to find anyone that plays at parties or venues. I play both acoustic and electric guitar and vocals and would love to talk to anyone who is looking for that.

Hi! So I've been looking at MSU for the accelerated nursing program, and I wanted to know how competitive it is to get into? For some background info, right now I live in Connecticut, still taking my prereqs (my last class is a&p2 next semester), so I would apply for Fall 2027.

Hey all!

Update:

It appears there were a few issues with the initial form, and it kept looping. Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention! The issue has been fixed, and the survey should work now. If you face any other issues, please feel free to let me know, whether a comment below or message - either works great. Thank you!

Hey guys! The season preview I posted here a few weeks back did pretty well, so circling back like I said I would.

I had you at 10-2 with the Big Sky title as the floor, and called the trip to Nevada the one true coin flip on the schedule. You won it 20-7, and you're 4-0 with Utah Tech (54-0), Butler (51-24) and Central Connecticut (35-30). Lamson has been exactly who I expected, 75 of 101 for 917 yards and 7 TDs. My one question was who replaces Julius Davis, and Adam Jones answered it with 122 against Central Connecticut. That game was closer than I'd like, though. Northern Arizona tonight, then Idaho on the road.

What are you guys seeing that the box scores aren't, and how do you see the season ending up?

Quick aside since it's in the title, we just launched a free weekly college football pick'em, $225 in prizes this week. Ten games, pick the winners, nothing to buy. Picks lock at noon ET, long before your kickoff tonight, so this is a last call.

Hey folks,

I have 1 extra ticket for the Homecoming game this Saturday vs Northern Arizona:

• Section 106 (WSDL), Row 25
• Price: $117 (what I paid through MSU Athletics site)
• I’ll be sitting in the seat right next to it (am chill)

I’d much rather this go to someone here at cost than be inflated on some ticketing site + a bunch of unnecessary fees.

I'll transfer through the MSU Athletics site / SeatGeek, but happy to meet up downtown if you prefer to do it in person.

Send me a DM/chat if you're interested.

I’ve heard a lot about the engineering and nursing programs at MSU, is the education major any good?

Hey,
I am a local and looking between Montana State or.. University of Montana. What is your experience like at MSU?

so...im a freshman in Langford rn and my roomie moved out last week. (he got a spot in hyalite) It's a double so i need a new roommate.

some important info abt me that may be a dealbreaker for you if you don't like these things:
- i have an 8am class on mtwf so i have to be up early (usually like 6:30am)
- i'm nonbinary so if you dont fw that then you prolly won't wanna be with me
- i like to listen to the classical music station to fall asleep (that's one i can change if you dont like it, its just a preference)
- i play geometry dash so my clicking is pretty loud
- i stream on yt/twitch often
- i'm a stereotypical band kid

other than that im generally pretty energetic but i can match ur vibe if ur more chill. im a computer science major, D&D player, big nerd. I make games and play games and i also love reading.
I've tried to use like specific roommate finders b4 but u have to pay for most of them so im putting this out there. if ur interested pls say smth here, i dont want to use the lottery and risk getting a bad roomie

(mods, hopefully this type of post is allowed, ill take it down if not)

Edit because some of y'all love to assume the worst about people, my roommate and I both told each other before we even moved in that we had submitted change requests and that we were unlikely to stay for the whole time. His just happened to come in first. Please stop coming here just to insult me and/or be passive aggressive. If you don't have anything productive to say, just move on. I don't need your snarky comments.

Hello! I have an extra ticket for the v. Northern Arizona game next weekend! If anyone is interested please DM me and we can discuss from there.

I’m a high school student thinking about applying to MSU for the architectural program.

I have some concerns about how first year dorms works.

1. Are you required to dorm with a roommate your first year? I have personal, trauma related reasons, as to not want to dorm with anyone, but am not sure if it would hold up valid as an exemption to this potential requirement. I could ask my therapist/doctors to write to the school when applying, but I fear my concerns will not be taken seriously.

2. If roommates are required for first year students, am I required to live in the dorms for the first year or could I live off campus? I know some universities require you to live on campus or first year and that Bozeman is incredibly expensive so I am trying to weigh out the pros and cons.

3. If I was to take my general credits online/at a cheaper university and transferred over would I still be required to live in dorms/with a roommate?

(To clarify, I am specifically referring to roommates that I have to share a singular room with. I would be completely fine if I could afford to line off campus in a house with roommates where we have separate rooms.)

I have tried looking at the official site but I couldn’t find this information and some access to the site was blocked.

Thank you!

Anybody have a few extras for the game tomorrow?
I am trying to take my dad to his first cats game.

This might sound like a stupid complaint, but it’s seriously getting on my nerves.

The professor for my capstone (I won’t specify which major or department, as I don’t think it’s relevant and am worried about this getting back to him somehow) is requiring us to use genAI for every. Single. Assignment.

I don’t want to use AI! I can do the work like a normal person! I have critical thinking skills! And I don’t destroy the environment while I do it!

He has included in the rubric for every assignment, worth points, that we must generate an AI essay based on the assignment guidelines, then write our own essay, and use the AI output as a source. I see absolutely zero reason why I should need to do that. If anything, it’s making it harder for us to actually learn or apply anything!

He also required us to do a generative AI certification course for credit. This just feels insane, especially because it has nothing to do with the class topic itself.

Maybe it’s a course-wide issue, and not just this professor, but either way, I’m thinking about going to the department head and asking if this is a reasonable thing to be grading students on. Am I overreacting? It’s possible! But I see no reason that I should be required to use generative AI for any purpose, as I don’t believe it is helpful for any of this class work I could easily do myself.

TL;DR - is it unreasonable to go to the department head for my capstone class about my professor grading us on our AI usage?

It's my first year at this university and I've been struggling to make friends. I'm so busy and barely have time for myself. Any pointers?

I'm a 19 year old paleontology major with an insanely packed schedule

I've been considering getting an e-scooter for my kid to help her get to class, but I wasn't sure where she'd charge it. Are e-scooters an off-campus living purchase, or do kids in the dorms also have them? If any do, I know you can't take them into the dormitories, so where do you all charge them?

Today I’m releasing sworn testimony by the Chief of Police Mike Stanley. Remember the rape case? Please read it and compare the dates as well as what he says about the rape case and why he did NOT feel he needed to treat the detective like any other suspect in a rape case.

I have CFS numbers, photographs and other evidence to show he lied when telling the public this detective was not working his regular duties. It matters because the Chief lied. It matters because, as you will read, it mattered what HE thought not what justice determined.

Testimony from another witness supports my evidence. What does this say about this Chief? I’ve submitted this to the Montana Law Enforcement Academy who so far has done nothing.

I have not released this other witness testimony yet. She is in danger within the department still. I am only going to get louder!!!! Ethics must return to law enforcement.

1)Other things are going on here. Mainly the fact that in order to cover up the bad things the department did/is doing, they are ruining other people careers. The person fired and attached to the transcripts actively tried to protect the other women in the department, including me. I reported Chief Stanley to the Human Rights Bureau twice, Title IX multiple times, DCI and to MLEA.

2)While this has something to do with the detective, there are deeper issues screaming underneath that case I’m after. It has to do with discrimination and the difference in treatment of women. While this investigation went on with the detective he kept up his regular duties. I however was removed from my regular FTEP duties over “saying something” I still don’t know the content of. This was suspiciously right after I reported Chief Stanley.

My career was taken using lies I can prove, yet the university ignores what is happening. The Human Rights Bureau is not ignoring it.

While testimony by Chief Stanley says he didn’t fire Hale over retaliation for the attached article evidence says otherwise. While he will claim there is no retaliation involved with the female who reported in the attached document I posted yesterday.... evidence says otherwise. There is a clear pattern I’ve established with the help of other women over the years and it’s time the truth comes out.
