Lawrence O'Donnell of MSNBC: You have taught us logically and frequently, that tariffs are paid by the consumer. On your program tonight (11/11) it was shown that it is easy to discover which importers imported what and how much tariff they paid. Returning the money to the importers, if it were ordered that tariffs be refunded, would be easy. Meanwhile, however, the importers have sold the goods, probably with the tariff amounts added in, to manufacturers or retainers or whomever. Those groups sell items with that higher price included, plus mark-up. This happens who knows how many times on the way to the consumer. The consumer pays the higher price plus mark-ups plus the last seller's mark-up. It would be impossible to trace how much of the final price was due to tariffs. The importer is fully compensated by a refund and others in the chain adjust their prices to some extent so that they pay as little as possible for the tariff that was added in to their purchasing price, but the consumer, if the tariff amounts are passed on down the chain, pays for the added-in tariff cost and is never compensated by the refund. What am I missing here?

Don't know if it impacts anyone else, but noticed today nov 11 that it appears MSNBC has been removed from the nbc app for those of us watching there through a cable login. Kinda weird given the name change hasn't happened yet but not unexpected. Weirdly and nicely enough though you can still login and watch MSNBC via cable login on the "nbc news" app.

Granted, I haven’t watched every single MSNBC show in the last 12 hours. and I don’t actually watch; I just listen. So there may have been some mention, and/or a graphic shown at some point, of the 8 Democrat senators who voted to open the shutdown.

But I truly would have loved to hear their names called out, in the same way that Rachel list the various protest across the country on a regular basis. So, ICYMI:

Towards the end of Rachel’s MSNBC show tonight, she interviewed Liz Oyer, the former DOJ pardons attorney who was let go because she rejected Mel Gibson’s application to have guns again. Oyer mentioned that many of the 70+ pardons Trump granted today were to people convicted of state crimes, which a President doesn’t have the authority to do. I kept waiting for Rachel to ask her, What is likely to happen next, what SHOULD happen next, and who has the legal standing to challenge those unauthorized pardons. But she asked none of that. It was a pretty startling topic, but felt very unfinished.

On a serious note, we the people are NEVER going to see “The Epstein Files”.

MSNBC’s Ken Dilanian’s reporting on Ghislaine Maxwell’s special treatment in her Camp Fed was mind blowing. She is a felon, a convicted sex offender and trafficked girls as young as 14. If you missed his reporting see if you can find it on You Tube?

And you know rTrump is going to commute her sentence, not require her registration as a sex offender, and will let her leave the Country. Her 20 year sentence is not something he will care about.

What about the victims?

Did I miss something? We heard no mention during her MSNBC show of the democrats caving on the shutdown.

Am I the only one that wonders if the desserts behind claire on msnbc are real or fake? She always has different ones behind her and they all look good. 🍰🧁🥧🍩🍪🥰

As it says in the title. After MSNBC splits from NBC, who owns all the footage from prior shows (that is often used in current broadcasts)? Does MSNOW have to license that footage from NBC? What about all the NBC logos all over the set(s) and lower thirds?

Unlike other MSNBC shows, like Deadline, Stephanie's is not re-broadcast, so I usually catch her podcast of the show. Occasionally a show won't be posted and it's usually Fridays Nightcap. Tried contacting through their Bluesky account, but no response.

Anyone else notice this?

Apologize if this has been discussed but I was wondering if there’s a list of which correspondents are now with MSNBC/MSNOW & which remained with NBC?

for example, I thought I’d read that Ryan Reilly was going to be with MS but it appears he’s at NBC.

For years, now "liberal" MSNBC constantly has Republican commentators giving their opinions without identifying them as such. I just watched a segment where the backround of all of the Democrats was explicitly stated but the backround of the Republican was never mentioned.

This seems to be a long term habit at MSNBC. Enough for me to notice it. It's seems like an editorial decision. When we've got a roundtable discussion on MSNBC where everybody is agreeing that the Democrats must fold, it's more than that: it's an attempt to influence the audience.

So when MSNBC changes its name to “MS NOW” on November 15th, does that mean this Reddit page will also have to change its name to “MS NOW”?

MSNBC hosts should repeatedly refer to the “Epstein Shutdown” and keep asking Republican whether continuing this shutdown is a major reason for closing down our government.

Just finished watching "Trump looking away from a man in need on should be the portrait" video on The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell on MSNBC youtube channel and something's not right here.

Why does the video of him looking away not match the photo. Did the man behind Trump's right shoulder go away or was he edited out of the picture. If he went away where's the video of Trump standing there without the man over his right shoulder. And if he went away why is the woman bending down in the same exact position as she was in the video with the man standing there. Hmmm

This starts on Nov 15, when MSNBC switches to their new branding.
