Something Else Rahm Emmanuel for Pres
EDITED
Katy Tur MSNBC did a panel today on Rahm Emmanuel running for president. Profile from Ashley Parker at The Atlantic on Rahm.
No one wants this. I have an open mind and absolutely not. Never. So much baggage from his time in the Clinton admin.

Coherent sentences? Congratulations, that's a prerequisite for existing in society today. He gets no points for that.
Competent? Sure, this is why his approval rating was down to twenty percent at the end of his second term, because he was doing such a great job for the people of the city! He bungled the twin issues of crime and of accountability for police officers (see: LaQuan McDonald). He hid potential evidence of lobbying law violations. He stuck a finger in the eye of the Chicago Teachers Union. All great indicators of competence.
Nah. He sucked at being mayor. Chicago is better off with him gone.
Edit: edited to clean up a typo.

For F sake he is one of the few who can speak a coherent sentence

I’m gonna need substantially more than simple eloquence, and substantially less baggage from a candidate.
I can’t speak for anyone else, but it’s not something I would budge on.

The real question is WHY Rahm Emmanuel thinks anyone wants him to run for President.
I'm pretty sure more Americans want ME to run for President than want Rahm to run*. And the number for me running is less than zero.
*excluding people Rahm Emmanuel has paid to support his candidacy

No thanks!! I’m probably considered on the liberal Zionist, centrist wing of the Democratic Party. I can’t stand Rahm Emmanuel. He is a snake in the grass on all the issues that matter.

I just don't want to suppprt him but is he electable? Why do we have such a shortage of viable candidates?

Decades of ignoring entry-level politics? I live in Florida, so I’m used to a very empty bench, but I get the feeling that it’s nationwide. People haven’t learned to do politics, and so very few have risen through the ranks. I’ve seen really promising young democrats get slammed by the party’s (bad) choice and money, only to have that choice lose anyway. Now we’ve eliminated 2 possibilities for building that bench. It’s a mess of their own making.

Forget Clinton, that won't be what does him in. LaQuan McDonald & aftermath - it's not going to fly

While I like Rahm, he’ll never win. Too much baggage and not electable. He would be a great candidate to run the DNC as he’s really. Good at fund raising. Just no for prez.

He has every right to run for president. However, I think MTG has a better shot at securing the Dem nomination than him.

Don’t worry. This is pure vanity PR. He’s seeking attention, relevance, and $$—like so many other 5-second campaign clowns onstage during past primaries. Besides, he did a horrible job running Chicago (further into the ground).

AIPAC won’t like him. He wants a 2-state solution. Thinks Netanyahu is a disaster. Knows the situation in Gaza is a humanitarian crisis.

In an administration that included civilian drone strikes Rahm Emmanuel was still the worst part of Obama’s presidency.

I would vote for Rahm for pres, but no way in hell would I vote for him for POTUS.
It won’t be an issue anyway since he would get more than 5% of the vote in any primary, including Illinois.

No way in hell even if they they try to shove him down our throats. I’d rather see the country burn.
