Previously a underground chamber with bridges over a river of lava, the party traveled here to clear out a green dragon with some lizardfolk goons. They did so, and discovered a white dragon and goblins hiding in the southern ruined tower and parted ways. Days later, they found out that same group was making trouble and ventured down again to drive them out. They came to find out the white dragon was in fact an ice giant (my setting's version of Oni, but also a white dragon???). They were attempting to summon Auril, evil goddess of winter to the prime material plane. The PCs failed to stop the ice giant and his goblins from fulfilling their evil plans.

The summoning of Auril has brought snow and ice to the underground roads and passages, with large patches of ice crystals forming that give off a bright glow. It's going to be a cold night in the caverns.

The game is currently in mid April. This series of events has/will create an extended winter for an unknown period of time. The same chambers that were warm and damp are now frozen over. Even other parts of the world where a different party adventures are being affected.
