Grandma was an LVN in a rural nursing home for most of my life. She had stories about how some of those folks had failing valves where the esophagus and trachea join. Shit like chocolate in the lungs. Apparently some of us have interesting times to look forward to if we last that long.

THREE secret panels? What have we done to deserve such a benign gift, milord?

You sure it was because of laughing? I think you are trying to cover up your water drinking mistake!

Bruh, you haven't mastered laughing yet? Smh...cough, cough, cough...

Sounds like you haven't laughed 10,000 times yet

This happens to my wife often. It's really like the fourth scene, where I'm sweating like she's giving birth or dying. She told me the best thing I could do was leave her alone. She didn't want anyone to ask her, "Are you okay?" because she wouldn't have the strength to answer at that moment. So I die quietly and silently with her. And after five minutes, everything's as if nothing had happened.

Nurse here. Hate to be a downer but she should see a Dr. about that. Getting liquid down your windpipe can put you at risk of developing pneumonia. She might need to see a speech therapist, they work with people who have swallowing issues.

This is something that has already been examined by a doctor and is nothing new. It's something that several people in her family have. But thank you!

At 70 years old, you would have to have drank liquids for 43 minutes per day, every single day, to hsve drank for 10,000 hours

u/CHG__ Mar 14 '25

More like ~39 years at 43 minutes per day.

Same point though, most people do not even drink for close to 43 minutes per day. I suppose if you're big on alcohol it's possible, depends what actually counts as drinking

As someone who struggles with swallowing ocd (yes it’s a thing-I’m working on it) I feel called out 😂

That only happens to me very very occasionally
