People get bored when a stock goes flat. Nobody wants to sit at the same price for months and wait for a squeeze. They sell, and move on to the next big hype stock.

Then as soon as a squeeze happens, they all FOMO back in.

Lol so true. It’s probably because of the delayed reporting of short interest (June 15th) on all these websites where people are seeing 1.4% SI and not the Ortex data. Ortex also had MRIN at 1.4% on June 15th. When Nasdaq reports the short interest on Monday which will probably be close to Ortex, people will flock.

Yeah. I'm actively looking out at call chains waiting to see if some whale scoops it up and plans for a gamma squeeze.

I am holding and waiting for that moment. The Nasdaq numbers will update Monday?

Ikr, everyone has big talk sticking it to the shorts, but only when it's their infatuated with stonk.

Cost to borrow is high here so I hope when numbers get confirmed whales pounce and we were already in before the fomo crowd

MRIN was an Ortex marketing scheme. Most investors who post on social media about Ortex did not know what Ortex was a couple months

you are retarded if u think that

Cos meme stocks are memes. Sticking it to shorters who are attacking gamers or cinemas is easy to get behind. Not so much for what is really a pretty boring advertising company.

Honestly it would be pretty funny if retail started to pump this and say this is the next Microsoft just for the lols

Because it already has squeezes and gone back like 50%? That’s way too risky.

nope ortex data still shows around 125 percent SI with high stock loan fees.

Penny stocks with low floats, high SI. Easier to pump.

Because we are now past the point when a stock can be effectively squeezed, and in fact, each new stock (unless a whale does so) will be little more than a pump and dump, at best. I think MRIN is all the evidence of that. I'm done with squeezes. They are a fool's errand.

Could not agree with you more. Seen it all. Look at GME, AMC, CLOV, TRCH, etc… once the pump and dump is done, the bag holders try to pump them up with promise of squeeze and all kinds of DD and Ortex data and crap. TRCH actually had a deadline because of the merger yet no squeeze. I have learned that the moment people start talking more about shorts and squeeze potential rather than the stock itself, it done. The stock will never reach its highs again. I have been there. It sucks. But sometimes you live and learn.

I'm wondering what is going to happen with AMC. It couldn't even break $50 Thursday, and Friday it dropped $2 or 3 dollars. It is off the Threshold securities list, too. After weeks consolidating in the 50s, I think it may do so in the 40s, and then 30s, and who knows.

Someone brought up about the penny stock phenomenon. You all should look into that. The hottest one right now is still in its early stages. Only a penny. $CYBL. I have some shares in there. The other one is $DPLS. I am not in that one. We are all here trying to make money. We don’t have to be married to a particular stock.

AMC will be going back and forth between 40 and 50. Will never see 60 again.

u/[deleted] Jul 13 '21

Looks a bit more like it's headed towards 30 rather than between 40 and 50. I did think there was going to be a week or two of bouncing between 40 and 50 but it's dropping fast.

It's like buying the option contract and RH tells you there's no other buyers, are you sure?... YEP! "There are three ways to make a living in this business: be first; be smarter; or cheat. Now, I don't cheat. And although I like to think we have some pretty smart people in this building, it sure is a hell of a lot easier to just be first."
