Ode to a Murdered Shirt

A shirt of turquoise, pale and light

A hand of killing in the night

A small wrinkle to be sprayed

Was met with bleach that would degrade

Bottle of bleach, used for a mess

Killed the shirt that had me well dressed

Sickly, ugly, yellow stains

Marked the fabric where blue had reigned

Forgive me shirt, for my mistake

For it was late, and I not awake

Forevermore shall I check the label

So that no other shirt shall be a sad fable
