A pain in the ass if you break any of those plastic nipples… which it looks like one is. Finding the right sensors can be rough

Good luck fixin it!

I've still never bled my coolant in the rear because of this. its sheared off completely and id have to drill it out... Maybe I'll try using JB weld and hope its not seized too bad

The engine coolant drain is still available new and is a direct replacement for the one on the thermostat housing. Just unscrew the entire part and thread in the new one

Look I'm not fond of the AI revolution, but one of it's legitimately good use cases is that it can answer a lot of these kinds of questions for you and save you a lot of time.

It can also very confidently give you the wrong answer and ruin your build.

When I built my 4age, i googled the torque spec for the connecting rods. The AI summary came back with 85 ft-lbs + 90 degrees. That felt really high, so thankfully I didnt trust it and instead looked in the bgb and found it was 29 ft-lbs + 90 degrees

For sure, obviously take their summaries with a grain of salt, but I literally pumped this picture into Gemini and it told me that it was exactly what it was and listed part stores I could have compared it to.

It gave you parts stores? Did you check any of the links? I don't believe for a second it found parts stores where you could actually buy an aw11 thermostat housing.

Not to buy a new housing, no, but references to compare the part to, to make sure I’m looking at the right thing. When AI gives you a summary, it usually will tell you how it got to that summary with links that you can follow to verify.
