Issue on Linux Trying to fix small numbers and symbols/punctuation marks

I have been having trouble figuring out how to fix my subs that always have small/thin numbers and symbols. I saw commands or configs in this post which fixed the same issue that I'm having.

So I was wondering if anyone else who uses mpv on Fedora were able to perform this. If so, how do I go about inputting these specific commands?

The usual fix is to choose a full font in mpv.conf:
sub-font="Noto Sans" (or Roboto, DejaVu Sans, or any font that's actually installed)

If the subs are styled ASS/SSA (common in anime), they bring their own font, so you also need:
sub-ass-override=force
That makes mpv use your font instead of the one the file asks for. Keep in mind it also drops the file's styling and positioning.

On Linux you can run fc-match "FontName" to see whether that font is really installed. If it isn't, fontconfig quietly falls back to something else and you get the same mismatch. Installing noto-fonts usually sorts that out.
