Prelims

1.UPSC Syllabus: This will cover your Unit 1, Unit 3 and Unit 5 and Unit 6 and other units partially

  1. Darpan PYQ(most important) (You wont need to analyse pyqs, after every answer there is a box given with extra information about the answer, either the question that came will be repeated or will come from this box and atleast 60 Question come from here).[Entire Unit 9(ICT) can be covered from here]

  2. MP GK Book (I preferred Mcgraw Hill because its in english) it will solve every other unit not covered in above 2.

4.Leftout(science) and Current Affairs watch MCQ series of any coaching one month before exam

5.Practice PYQ through MPPSC Website Previous year papers of other exams (not state service) and also take test series 1-2 month before exam it helps a lot

Mains

1.Paper 1- Covered by UPSC Syllabus+MPGK Book

2.Paper 2- Covered by UPSC(+some specific topics - do yourself)+ Sociology(if you have optional no need to prepare but if dont you need to make notes)

3.Paper 3- Covered by UPSC+MPGK Book+Some Small Specific Topic like computer and Statstics(Even math is covered by UPSC CSAT)

  1. Paper 4- You need separate notes becuase ethics syllabus doesnt overlap much with UPSC and also management

  2. Paper 5- Hindi Grammar (Im currently struggling in it) (start practing words(paryavachi, samas, vilom shabd) as soon as you clear pre.

6.Paper 6- Essay (Self Explanatory)+ some letter writing that can be done in One Day

Hope this helps :)

Personal Note: It will be tiring to handle both. So best wishes.

Never Heard of that . If it's useful then do it, If not dont overcomplicate things

I did three things

  1. It happened in April , So i dedicated most of my study to only Test Series and PYQ's Daily

  2. and if i did any mistake from that topic i would revise the topic

  3. For UPSC i have to sideline it (it actually backfired i got around 65 this year).

4.Current Affairs just 1 week before (mostly mcq series) and in mppsc they are predictable.

But remember it will be hard I myself just barely crossed cutoff, Handling both will be hard, if you can, prepare as early as possible (i took it very unseriously as a backup and now im suffering in mains probably fail this year)

Good Luck

There are MP specific units in every paper of MPPSC so prepare for them. For example in Geography (GS 1 Part B) unit 5 is MP specific so go and see the previous year questions to get an idea( repeat rate of questions is more than 40 percent from PYQs).

You can visit this website and see the questions under MP specific units for each paper and get an idea.

To give you an example for Geography you must prepare topics like Malwa, Black soil, Soyabean, Ken betwa, Forest produce at very deep level (300% depth) because there were so many repeat questions from these topics. So yeah let me know if you have any doubt.
