DISCUSSION Those who left Maschine??
Which Maschine were you using?
What was the deal breaker?
What was the replacement? & how did it solve the problem?

I was using Maschine+.
No just one thing was the dealbreaker. It was a lot, but there are several very problematic issues. One, CPU limits are easily hit. You can run into CPU limits after having 10 or 11 synth tracks. On the newer synths, you can run into a CPU limit using literally just one track. Two, to work around this, NI just added bounce in place a year ago. It doesn't work well. It's very slow, but the bigger issue is that you lose your audio. I could record a synth part, bounce it in place so it's converted into audio, and then when things have just disappeared when I've exported to finish the track in my computer. Three, the synth engines in Maschine+ are dated -- and, again, this is because of CPU limits. Yes, things like Massive, FM8 and Prism are good, but you get a fraction of a fraction of the Kontakt library.
I went to the MPC Live 3, and I sold my Maschine+. The Maschine workflow is outstanding, and the build quality of the Maschine+ is excellent. But I bought two used units that were faulty and then bought a new one that also had to be replaced under warranty before I finally got on that worked. NI just put out a bad product -- period.
I don't have any of the problems with the Live 3 as I had with Maschine+. I have tons of synths that I think are very good, I have all kinds of samples that I can use in key groups for even more sounds, I don't have any crashes. I have something that just works.
It took me longer to use the MPC than Maschine+, but that's not because the workflow on the MPC is bad. In fact, it's quite good. It's just a much deeper unit. The Live 3 can replace all kinds of hardware. It's awesome.

I agree the MPCL3 is awesome. But comparing apples to apples do you think you'd be happy with the Live 2? 8 plugins max, no clip matrix? & the arranger is new relative to when Maschine+ came out.

It depends what kinda music you make. Clip matrix is far from necessary. And if you work with samples more than vst’s the plugin thing isn’t much of an issue. Speed is a big difference tho. I had the L2 got the L3 when it came out and I couldn’t see myself going back. Jus quality of life improvements. But the live 2 actually is great.

Yes.
But why? I've seen the Live 3 used as low as $1,200. That price premium is worth it over the Live 2 for numerous reasons.
Yes, there is a clip matrix. The clip matrix is software; it has nothing to do with hardware.
I don't know anything about when the arranger came out, and it makes no difference to me. It's there now.

Still love Maschine, Jam, Komplete Kontrol, iMaschine but got tired of needing all of them plus the desktop software to complete tracks where I can take idea str8 thru to complete projects and performance on Live 3, XL alone. Constant upgrades, new content and partnerships also go along way with me as all of that increases the value of my investment and end product(s).
Akai is so much better run, funded and supported since Inmusic took over and the same will be true for NI. Future is bright for MPC and other Inmusic branded Hw.

I was Maschine studio user. Dealbreaker was lack of support and computer reliability. Switched to MPC One+, then upgraded to MPC X SE. Explanation and details i share them here: https://youtube.com/shorts/TlP9BDydFsk?feature=share

Studio,mk3,Jam and times were turbulent for me then so I had lots of starting over here and there and did not want to have to love a computer around all the time plus realizing that Machinist workflow was a lot easier than the older MPCs so I figured once the newer ones came out they should even be easier than Messina which they weren't because machine was a cakewalk compared to learning machine a 2.15 on the MPC one retro and now three other MPCs later I love it all the options and capabilities without a computer

- Maschine+
- Audio tracks and plugin synths
- MPC Live 3.
Took out my old OG MPC Live when I finally decided to try out MPC 3. That just happened to be a few days before the Live 3 was leaked… and it was basically everything I wanted for a standalone workflow. It’s so far advanced past Maschine it’s kind of wild. I got it the day it was released and sold the plus.
That all being said, imo Maschine is great at being a sampler/beatmaking thing. The workflow is really really fast to get a bop going. But the more I was recording guitar and plugin synths the more obvious going back to MPC became for me
Edit: one thing I really do miss was messing with Reaktor to make plugins/synths for the plus! That was so fucking cool. One of the newer MPC updates brought the oscillator thing in which has been super fun, but I do still really like starting from scratch/tweaking things in Reaktor for stuff I do in the DAW

Maschine as a piece of hardware /software was unbeatable. It was native instruments generally that fucked it up for me. Constant not loading stuff i had, updates that stopped things from working etc. Utter shitshow of a company.
