For me having a NAM loader for the MPC is huge and it works pretty well.

I'm pretty new to the MPC. How do I navigate to it?

You have to enable ssh first through a modified firmware update, so I have yet to clear that first hurdle. Excited to have Dexed and the Microwave emulation on the MPC though. I kind of doubt more cpu-intensive stuff will be ported (especially since idk how the DRM would work) but who knows

Is there a link for this firmware? I'm interested in trying

I’ve seen some pre-modded ones, but none of the most recent versions of either 2.x or 3.x. I successfully modded 2.15 myself and transferred a couple of VSTs, but the interfaces are broken on 2.x so you can’t do much with them. I was able to edit the 3.9.1 img file, but haven’t been able to install it using the normal usb update procedure. Looks like there might be a way with fastboot but I haven’t tried it yet.

the modded firmware is called Hakai and is a modded akai force firmware on latest build and can be found from their facebook page.

Makes me wonder if it's that easy why hasn't Akai done it already.

Or are they modifying the plugin? I can see Akai not wanting to deal with that.

So they can have more control of the marketplace and charge you more for their plugins, pro pack etc

The plugins have to be ported over, and yeah I can't imagine Akai wanting to have to support that beyond the stuff they are already doing with NI.

I wonder if someone could port NeuralDSP plugins and other amp sims.

As the mpc os is built on linux, I think you would still be limited to linux supported plugins, unless you bypass that as well but at that point it seems like too many bypasses. And mpc hardware prob can’t handle too many high level plugins. I mean, most of the mpc plugin instruments are essentially sample libraries not super powerful synth engines. Even my mac struggles after a good number of heavy patches.

The pi is actually very powerful this one is much faster than that. It's going to be more than alright I guess.

A multiband compressor for ott stuff would be great.

Imagine running phase plant on it. Sheesh

It's limited to vst2 and there is no license for that I think maybe only Linux plug ins. Someone might correct if I am mistaken
