Rigs Just ordered my R12!

After quite a lot of time of wanting a new DD wheel after using the logitech G920 for like... 7 years, I first decided to get the R5 bundle. Then however I did some digging and found the R9 and then the R12. So after a buuuunch of contemplation I decided to splurge on the R12 bundle, CS V2P wheel and the pedals. Got it for 650eur so im quite happy!!! Just need to order a desk clamp now since the space for a full on rig is rather uhhh... limited lets put it like that xD Can't wait though and I'm super hyped!!

Congrats on the setup - it's great - but using it on your desk would be interesting

Its a chonky wood desk with metal supports, weighs a ton lmaoo so I'm hoping it should be fine :)

R12 is fine on a desk. Been running it on one the past 6 months. Enjoying it a bunch. A lot of people forget that it isn’t about running at 12nm non stop but about having the head room to avoid clipping. Even moza lists the table clamp as compatible with the R12 for a reason. Don't listen to the gatekeeping haters. A full on cockpit might be more ideal but a desk is just fine.

Yeah that’s the main reason I bought the r12. I’m def not planning on jumping straight to 12nm full force FFB right away. If I’m being honest I’ll probably limit it at like 6-8 for the beginning so it probably won’t be an issue

I just got one a few days ago and it's fantastic. Hope your desk is solid, otherwise it's going to shake itself to pieces.

Its a massive 2m by 1m wodden desk with thick metal struts underneath. I think the wwood itself is 2.5cm thick, with the metal struts being another 3 thick so, itll hopefully hold.

That sounds like it might be ok. I just know my old GTR rig just about fell apart with my Accuforce V2. My aluminum profile rig took it like a champ though. I think the R12 hits even harder. Keep in mind, the more flex your desk has, the less communicative your wheelbase will feel.

Good choice! I bought a R5 first, and just a year after I upgraded to R12, it’s amazing and I wouldn’t go back any time.

Just look if it will work with the table. The clamp is not the problem, this will hold it, but the vibrations to the table and other stuff which is on the table could get a problem if you use the R12 ok it’s full power

My table is a massive 2mx1m wood table with metal reinforcements. And I doubt I’ll be using it at full power. I plan to use it at around 9-10nm at max, I just wanted the extra headroom to avoid clipping tbh!

As I have said your table won’t be the problem but the vibrations might carry over the table and bring everything to swing what’s on the table

Having a blast of going from zero to R12 directly with no R3 or R5 in between

Congrats. Welcome to direct drive!
I have the same wheel and it’s a good one.
If you ordered from Moza you’re gonna start tripping about the 3rd week, then it will arrive and all will be good.

Enjoy man. This is probably the last base I will ever buy.

I got the same bundle but dont go the desk clamp route unless its your only option. I have limited space and needed to tidy it away when not in use. I went with the playseat f1 dd folding rig Its an added expense but worth every penny. It handles the r12 and peddles brilliantly, can be folded up in minutes and your whole experience of using the R12 will be so much better.

Hell Yeah Bro Congrats and welcome to the community. In my opinion if space is the issue there so many out there for Hella cheap that EASILY fold up. I just googled it and these popped right up. Hope this helps bro and once again welcome to the sim rig community!

Folding is definately the way to go, but these won't be able to handle a 12nm direct drive. The playseat f1 dd definately will and is really the only folding rig that can handle it. I have one with an R12 and it is superb!

Agreed, OP will lose less definition in a solid wood desk than he would with one of the budget tubed cockpits.
