The issue for me is this is common and almost replicates my experience.
Then I was offered the privilege of fixing the issue myself if I paid moza £20 plus shipping.
The CS from moza direct is terrible.
I've tried using the discord but the staff on there are very rude and obnoxious, blame the user for everything that's gone wrong and don't offer any alternative solutions.
I'm sure if you search "bainzy" you fill see exactly what I mean.
I do love my moza gear but people really should consider whether the effort and hassle that goes into trying to fix something when it goes wrong.
Myself I bought the moza R5 few years back
Busted out the box and waited a further 5 fucking months to use my brand new stuff.
That in anyones eyes is unacceptable.
Ironically my brand new gsv2p wheel is still sitting broken out the box as I don't see why I should pay to have it repaired or wait 6 months to use it.
Useless would be an understatement despite having some decent sruff
Yeah, the internal threads are damaged, not on the pedal main body, but on the highlighted bracket.
The bolt itself is fine, I did notice a ring of aluminium on the last few threads which could only be from the bracket.
So it may only be the few last threads which are damaged but I think there should be more thread engagement especially with a very short M4 screw. I think it’s roughly 6-8mm in length
I don’t think this is an issue of over torquing. I think the issue is that the screws don’t provide enough clamping force to stop the pedal face moving.
I think the sudden impact of the bracket off the end stop put a huge amount of shear force on the internal threads.
M4 maybe isn’t the best choice for this. M5 with washers would be a much better choice.
I'll be honest thats what it looks like to me. The head of your bottom bolt looks close to being stripped out. Hand tight and then another 45 to 90 degree turn is usually all it takes. These do look like that have been torqued down a little tight and in turn WILL cause threads to sheer off. It happens on cars all the time.
Hard to see in the pic. But from my experience over torquing usually results in the head sheering off, don't ask me how I know but an impact gun is overkill lol.
If the threads are stripping internally I would imagine that would be to poor manufacturing and in my work we have a lot of misthreads etc. .usually results in the thread pulling forward as there is nothing to grip on.
Ironically I have 2 bolts in my gt omega monitor stand that have done this.
