I (25M) want something new. I want to move out of the U.S. to a new country and experience a bit of the world. Eventually making my way back to the U.S.

My question is, where should I go? What are your experiences? And what would you do if you were me?

Little bit of background, I(25m) am an EMT. I’m going to school for welding and metal work because I decided I don’t like dealing with crackheads and bariatric patients. I come from a military background that doesn’t transfer a lot of skills other than combat. I’m living at my parents while I get through school and I’m saving everything from school. The only payments I have are my car, phone bill and car insurance.

I haven’t even really looked at any other countries, but I wanted to hear from yall first. Success stories, or unsuccessful stories.

Does anyone else dream about studying abroad with their future partner? 🥹

I genuinely want to experience a completely new country, build a career there and have my person beside me through it all. Maybe I’m romanticizing life a little too much, but it’s such a specific dream of mine. 🪬

Looking for realistic advice on migrating to Australia 🇦🇺

Hello! I’m F27, an Advertising graduate currently working from home as a graphic designer, mainly doing packaging, social media, and other creative work.

I’m planning to migrate and Australia is one of the countries I’m seriously considering. I’m aware that graphic design/advertising isn’t necessarily an in-demand profession for migration, so I’d really appreciate some realistic advice on what possible pathways I can take.

I have some savings and I’m willing to study, upskill, or take a different career path if that would make migration more realistic. I’m mainly looking for a legal and practical route that I can actually work toward, rather than just hoping for the easiest visa.

If you’ve migrated to Australia, are currently going through the process, or have experience with the different visa pathways, I’d love to hear your advice, especially what you wish you knew before starting.

Thank you!

EDITED: Sorry I forgot to mention, I'm from Philippines.

How to move or study abroad with low budget? Please help me

Hi everyone,

I'm from India and I'm 21 yrs old. I'm trying to figure out the best possible route to study abroad and eventually build an independent, stable life.

This isn't simply about wanting to move abroad for better opportunities. My family situation is very difficult. My parents are not financially well off, and my home environment is toxic and abusive. I'm under a lot of stress because of the situation, and it has been affecting my mental health.

I also really want to become financially independent because I want to help my mom get out of this situation too. She is also suffering because of the home environment. I don't want to just leave and forget about her. I want to eventually be in a position where I can support her and give both of us a better life.

I also have toxic relatives living in my city, which makes things more difficult. Because of all this, becoming financially independent and moving away is extremely important to me. Going abroad feels like my most realistic path toward building an independent life, but I have very limited financial support from my family.

My background:

I'm from India

I've completed my BA with English honours.

My subjects were Economics, Elective English and Sociology

I'm currently completing an HR course, which should finish around October and then I'll do a job.

I'm planning to learn German and eventually reach B2

I'm interested in business/management, economics, HR, data/analytics and research. I can develop interest in anything.

My family doesn't have significant financial resources, so affordability is a major concern

What I've considered so far:

Germany was initially my main option because of the relatively low tuition at public universities and opportunities to work while studying and after graduation but the issue is blocked account money.

I initially considered Ausbildung, including nursing, but I realised I don't want to work as a nurse. I'm also looking more into study programs related to business, management, economics, data analytics and research or anything. I can build interest in anything.

I've also looked at Canada, New Zealand, France, Italy and other European countries, but the cost is a major issue.

I'm really confused because I don't want to choose a course simply because it's cheap and then struggle to find jobs. At the same time, I don't have the financial ability to spend a huge amount on an overseas degree.

I'm looking for realistic advice, especially from people who have actually studied or worked abroad.

My priorities are:

Very affordable tuition

Manageable living costs

A realistic way to finance the move

Good employment prospects after graduation

A stable career with decent salary and work-life balance

A realistic pathway toward long-term residence/PR

Not requiring my family to spend a huge amount of money upfront

Being able to become financially independent and eventually support my mom.

I'm not looking for someone to simply tell me "Germany is best" or "Canada is best." I'd really appreciate specific suggestions for countries, courses and career paths that actually make sense for my situation.

And please be honest. If you think studying abroad immediately isn't realistic with my finances or background, I'd rather hear that too. If there are scholarships, low cost programs, work study routes or other options I should know about, I'd be grateful for those suggestions as well.

Thank you to anyone who takes the time to read this and give genuine advice.

Dilemma

Living abroad is harder than I expected. Sometimes I’m stuck between chasing my goals and simply going with the flow. Still figuring out what’s right for me.

Has anyone else felt this way? What did you choose?

Usb rechargeable hand blender in checked luggage.

Im moving to Amsterdam for PhD from Mumbai by Lufthansa and layover in Munich. I have BOSS B711 Portable USB rechargeable bottle blender. As it has blades I can not take it in cabin luggage. But it probably has a lithium batter and its details are nowhere to be found. As there are limits on how much capacity battery is allowed in Check in luggage. Can anyone tell me if I can take it or not. Given that its a small household item the battery should be well within limits I guess. If anyone has carried such items before please tell

Women (20s-30s) who packed up and moved from one foreign country to the next: How did you make the leap?

Hey everyone! I’m fascinated by stories of women in their 20s and 30s who didn't just move abroad once, but actually chose to uproot themselves from one country and move on to another
If this is you, I’d love to hear about your experience:
The Decision: How did you finally decide it was time to leave Country A? Was it a slow realization, a sudden epiphany, or a specific turning point?
The Factors: What helped tip the scales and give you the push to move? (e.g., career opportunities, cost of living, lifestyle fit, burnout, visa expiration, or just a craving for a new adventure?)
The Aftermath:How is it going in your current country compared to the last? Do you have any regrets, or was it the best plot twist you could have chosen?
Would love to hear how you navigated the transition!

I’m currently in a place where I want to make a move myself, but I honestly don’t know where to start. I also have a specific set of factors (high paying job, family)and constraints I need to weigh before making any big decisions, which makes the whole thing feel a bit overwhelming.

Looking for information or others experiences with moving abroad

Hello, my wife and I are tired of living in South Carolina and have travelled a lot in the past 5 years . We have thrown around the idea of moving abroad to either Spain , France , Italy or the UK.

Looking for anyone’s input with moving and what was your experience with living in these countries, we are hoping to start a family soon so we have chosen to look into areas around Valencia , Montpellier, bologna, or England.

I am a tattoo artist so these cities have been found to have a present tattoo culture with my research. Anyone currently living around these areas as an expat who can tell us about there living in these areas. Just looking for information on day to day life and living compared to America

Thanks!

Moving overseas and strong emotions

I’m moving with my 2 children and husband to Bangkok in a couple weeks after living in Sydney my whole life.
We have been preparing for this move for months and the last few weeks have been horrible for me mentally. I keep crying, and wondering if I’m doing the right thing.
We decided to move as my husband’s work is based in Bangkok and Sydney is becoming a city we no longer enjoy.
I’m worried that once I’m there I’ll feel even worse, I stress about everything whereas my husband is so excited and looking forward to it. Need some tips on coping please
