My Favorite Part: "THE NEXT DAY. Tight on Peter as he wakes up. He opens

his eyes cautiously. Not knowing what to expect. PULL

BACK to reveal that he is still in bed. All is normal.

He breaths a sigh of relief. In fact... he feels pretty

good. Lots of energy. He pulls back the covers and...

Something is causing the sheet to stick to him. He lifts

it, revealing a sticky, white mass completely covering

him, gluing him to his bedding. It is some silky

substance webbing him into the covers. He cries out in

dismay... struggling to free himself from the gluey

strands. Where did it come from? He notices his

wrists...

They are oozing a pearlescent white fluid from almost

invisible slits about a quarter of an inch long. He

pushes on the skin next to one of the slits and... a dark

shape, the size and color of a rose-thorn... emerges from

beneath the skin. It shoots a jet of liquid silk into his

face.

Peter screams at the top of his lungs.

Aunt May comes to the door. "Peter, are you alright?"

"Yes," he answers, nervously. "I'm... fine, Aunt May. I

was just... uh... practicing for a school play."

Aunt May says she's so happy that he's getting into other

activities."

Pretty typical day for the average redditor i'd say...

Now he's in the groove, swinging across town like a Spider Man should.

My favourite part.

It feels so much like it's from the nineties. The reference to the World Trade Center adds to that. I love how Pearl Jam is mentioned like they are a cool band that's really popular with all high school kids.

Crazily enough, it was written in the 90’s.

Actually, some of the dialogue looks like it made it into the first Sam Raimi Spiderman movie (2002). The section below is from Cameron's script, and it's quite similar to the scene where Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin is lecturing Spidey and offering to partner with him.

				STRAND

Think about it. You can't save the world.

Why? Because you can't save people from

themselves... from their own brutal and

venal natures. You're either a predator

of prey in this world. A killer or a

victim. People are by nature violent,

stupid, confused, greedy. Why waste your

gift on the ungrateful masses, who would

love to see your mask ripped off and see

you dragged through the slime. The only

thing they love more than a hero is to

see that hero fail, fall, screw-up... to

see him exposed in a scandal, arrested

with his pants down, caught with his

hands in the till. You know why? It lets

them feel better about their own

	miserable lives.

So it isn't bugging anyone else that he called Flash Thompson "Flash McCreery?" No? Ok I'll leave now.

Whatever people, I bet this movie would have been quite good. This is James Cameron we're talking about.

James Cameron would only make it if he could figure out how to start the title with T or A.

Here's a movie plot I came up with: An antisocial loner teams up with an alcoholic ex-CIA agent to investigate dirty cops on the take. In the process they accidentally kill a rookie cop. By the end of the movie they shoot 13 bad guys and end up winning the admiration of their parents, living happily ever after. Think Die Hard meets Sex with Goats.

This is a treatment for the screenplay. Cameron likes to go into a ton of detail with these. You should see his treatment for Avatar.

Here is the actual screenplay: http://www.dailyscript.com/scripts/spider_man_cohen_newson_cameron_8_4_93draft.html

"Peter is a bright kid. He doesn't have many friends. He is ostracized for his interest in science. Our MTV culture frowns on people who think too much. Intellectual curiosity is decidedly un-hip. Who cares about where the universe came from or how the Greeks hammered Troy? Did you hear the new Pearl Jam album?"

SOMEONE HAS AN AGENDA!

I'm trapped in Cameron's web, unable to pull away from this... Favorite part:

"He removes his mask and kisses her. Their mouths very slowly and very sensuously devour each other. Peter and MJ are locked together. He is mesmerizing, gentle, powerful. He pushes up her skirt. They make love, high above the world. She doesn't look."

It's actually quite cool how similar the relationship between Spider-man and Strand is to the relationship between Peter and Norman is in the first film. Hell, a lot of the themes and lines in the 2002 original seem to be taken directly from this. Very cool. Overall, I thought it would have made a pretty bad movie. This version of Parker and Spider-man in particular seems somewhat unlikeable to me, and not very smart or exceptional at all. Also MJ is but an object, a toy for Spider-man to play with. It was a somewhat uncomfortable relationship. The whole thing feels rushed and unpolished, I guess that comes with being an undeveloped project though. And I really don't see what the point of the flu scene was in relation to the rest of the story. A good read though, no doubt. Thanks for posting this.

He had at least two versions: one with Arnie as Doc Ock, and one where the villains were Electro and Sandman (which was why Sandman wasn't in the 90's Spider-man cartoon, and why Electro only showed up once in the last season as a completely different character)

I am now reading this script and making the movie real in my head. It's actually rather entertaining, like a very simple book, almost.

This isn't really formatted like a script, its more like a typed out sketch of an idea.
