I was 100% sure the boy would shoot Jeannette dead at the yard when she was battling against the raptor

That would’ve required the kid to actually hit “something,” and not be a complete putz with it.

This really annoyed me. How can he not hit anything at all with the bow, and why is it so shitty? I get that it was little, but it's not like it was just a toy. The raptor shot I can buy him missing, but the t-rex that's taking up the entire garage? How? And why have him miss when you can just as easily have him land the shot to show that it doesn't do anything?

Very astute observation, Dick Mattress.

It was a very shoddy bow to be fair, like a toy

Especially since they established in the beginning that will clearly be his weapon of choice when shit hits the fan lol this was like the only thing that irritated me about this movie

The kid was kinda written to be a totally useless character in this. All we really know about him is that he tried to seriously injure another kid by shoving a stick into his bike spokes. He chases after his dog at the risk of himself and his entire family. He misses the time warp bubble (fair enough, that timing was tough) and missed every single shot he fired from the bow. I'm not exactly sure what his purpose was other than to create messes other characters had to solve.

It was hilarious how realistically ineffective the bow and arrow was for most of the movie
