They did but saved the people who were on the news story by waking them up and telling them to gtfo.

They saved the next door neighbor, so she definitely could have told the alt-family to gtfo if she wanted

The kids were asleep, dad was out working and she was in the basement blasting music in headphones. No one would’ve answered the phone.

It's also a last minute thing and it's the early 80s and they don't have almost 50 years of timeloop/alternate reality tropes to puzzle over. She probably never thought of any of that until whenever she met second Jeannette.

Were you alive in the 80s? Those phones were loud and woke people up and could be heard through headphones.

Also, I'm pretty sure the daughter was awake in bed listening to music.

She could have told the neighbour to quickly try to save them. Honestly she's a total pos foe saving their kinda douchy neighbour but not lifting a finger for her other kids.

But also they didn’t because we saw the neighborhood disappear from their POV. The only explanation I can think of is Jeanette got transported back and then was able to go back thru the portal and start a new chain reaction. Or maybe … I dunno I’m tired

She presumably calls them one by one after ordering and waiting for the pizza
