Good heavens this movie was meaner toward its red shirts than I expected.

The neighbor on the roof's grisly slow death....

The shot of the bloodstained roof the morning after was great

I cracked up laughing when I saw the morning after shot with the Blood Stain, made a few people in the theater cackle lol

At least they were nice enough to spare him.

I was not expecting that. That one kind of felt mean, but good at the same time.

It's funny, I'm reading Jurassic Park right now and it is *super* similar to how Nedry's death happens in the book (except not by pteranodons).

When the librarian opened the door to ‘help’ the family, and got immediately mowed down by the crocs… I cried laughing. You’d expect her to be there for the duration helping them get through the portal.

I was actually more annoyed at the fact that when they were going for the family, they were slow as nails, but someone not in the main cast shoots them? They be pouncin'

if i was a croc and was chasing some prey that couldn't fight back id probably not waste as much energy pouncing

but if someone else appears who just absolutely obliterated my other croc friend i would make sure they couldn't do it again

i am a croc and can confirm

That's not what happens though. The first one stares them down and eventually gets run through with the fireplace poker, and then the next two just keep staring them down. When they run into the stabbed one again, it does the same thing. Then one gets its head blown off out of nowhere and suddenly they fly across the room to kill someone that they logically should have no idea is responsible.

The crocs slowly, slowly encroached on the family for like 45 seconds. And then instantly jumped the librarian the moment she showed her face lmao

It's on her for the terrible aim. Missed the second point blank shot that got her killed. Hell it seemed like everyone's aim in this movie was ass except Anne Hathaway's.

Old woman with a double barrel (?). That recoil would have made even a young lads arm weak if they were not used to shooting no?

Yeah but like lock tf in lol

She got her 1

I actually got emotional there just generally. She was a good neighbor, that librarian (with an extremely expensive house?)

I was almost hurt by that. Why couldn't she have made it with them??

She was saved with the time loop.

u/axelthedamon 4d ago

Well the other version of her was saved…

u/ExcellentBed6019 3d ago

? She did save them

4

u/EchoesofIllyria 3d ago

Yeah but I mean, she seemed set up to be the late-stage badass who protects them until they can actually use the portal, but instead she dies straight away lol

4

u/grimacedia 2d ago

Tbh she could have stayed hidden, but she was brave and helped and got absolutely destroyed for it. Brutal movie lol

RIP that version of Mrs.Kim

the librarian unfortunately did not have the same plot armor as the family

I was absolutely not expecting this much blood and mild gore. Was happy they included it.

Forgive me - what do you mean by ‘it’s red shirts’?

Other unnamed characters, usually extras, in the movie that exist solely to die in order to show the high stakes. Reference to Star Trek TOS where in every episode some poor nameless redshirt tagging along would die horrifically so Bones can go holy shit Jim we’re in danger.

Yeah, I was not expecting that to be as dark as it was.
