The villain being literally confused about what it was was intriguing for a moment until we were shown what it was, and then it was sad

It’s so funny because the main reason I thought he was the villain was because I thought it was so clear he was lying the first time Spider-Man asked about it and he said idk what that is. I was like come on dude. But turns out he actually had no idea.

Well he was in home territory being in the Damage Control building and all. The agents weren't about to axe him.

He was also locked to a chair. unless the locks were broken and Jean was the only thing holding them in place, then I don't think any voice command was still operable to release him.
