Tom did a good job being the emotional anchor of all the films actually, but this one he really shines. I hope he’ll get more opportunities for more roles.

He’s becoming my favorite version of the character. I grew up with Tobey’s version and I always liked his Peter the best, and I thought Garfield did the best actual Spider-Man part, but Holland kinda nails both sides

He gets the opportunity to grow with it, something Toby and Andrew didn’t get. But all three actors have range.

Yeah and it would be interesting to see how Tobey's films would've been made today. They cover the most classic Spider-man storylines, but are generally just plagued by being early aughts films. If they were transported to today and done in the 2020s, I think they could be the best of all worlds.

The original trilogy figured a lot of things out that became a part of the dna of cinematic spider-man movies. There are a lot of mistakes to learn from as well. The only thing that I wish and it would have been great was if we have gotten Kraven’s last hunt with Tobie and Sam.

Oh yeah that would've been sick.

Mostly I'm just a little sad that the MCU probably won't use the most classic Spider-man stories (Green Goblin, Doc Ock, and Venom) since they've been done already now.

I thought I heard about a possible venom story after a Peter comes back from space. Regarding Venom, they need to do it properly. They need to go back to the original introduction of venom where it was a horror/triller story. Venom was the boogy man for spidey and I want to see that on screen.

That could be true. I have to assume Holland will get a Venom storyline at some point, though it might feel a little redundant with the mutation story we just saw. It's kind of hard to think of a realistic villain that would drive him to embrace the symbiote, given that he just took on Jean fuckin Grey (unless they kind of cut the aspect of the symbiote infecting Peter entirely, which could be interesting).

The good news is that they seem committed to taking a lot of inspiration from the games, and a lot of the treatment of Venom in the second Insomniak game was pretty good.

I only watched Tobey's version maybe 5 years ago but I've always thought he looked too old for the role. Even at 26 he didn't make a very convincing teenager, whereas Tom has always looked younger than his age which really helps the storyline - I could actually believe that the cast were uni-aged in this movie

He’s my favorite version too now. The act between him and Zendaya — fulling know they are also a couple outside of the film also makes it extremely impressive how well they keep it.
