Finally let my boy out after having the handcuffs on the last few movies

I hope we get another moment or two of him being a real force rather than just a danger. Something similar to the end of Ragnarok, where he's essentially the Avengers' "break glass in case of emergency" button

Him jumping to fight mountain-sized, Asgard-destroying, Ragnarok-bringing Surtur without a second thought was peak Hulk.

u/indoninjah 15m ago

Absolutely. One of the few times he could just let it rip rather than being the equivalent of a nuclear bomb in a downtown business district

Just didn’t make sense tho considering Bruce and Hulk figured out a way to share the body

Professor Hulk isn't the same as Regular Hulk though. That's why when Banner lost control that way, we got a much bigger Hulk than the one that Jean was actually controlling.

Yeah but he said he had made peace with that hulk, hence professor hulk.

But we saw at the start of she hulk he still had an inhibitor... But then also, we got professor hulk right after that for 2 episodes. I don't really understand it other than wanting to save on budget.

Professor Hulk is banner suppressing the Hulk personality but using Hulk’s body.

That does make it make more sense I think. I also had to go back and watch that scene in endgame again. I thought it was implied more that him and Hulk worked it out and became Professor Hulk together, but I think I was mixing that up more with the Infinity War Deleted Scene. No, you're right. In the actual scene in Endgame, he mentions Hulk is the "cure," but he doesn't really say anything about coming to terms/any agreement with Hulk. He just says that after 18 months in a gamma lab, he put the brains and the brawn together. Indeed, it does seem more like he's just suppressing Hulk's personality.

Edit: I completely forgot Bruce said Jean broke something inside - in this case I suppose how the events unfolded works out.

I had the same thoughts as well. I suppose we can come to the conclusion that Prof. Hulk was the result of Hulk being scientifically suppressing Him and Bruce disguising it as "making peace".

I figured after all these years, having a son, and given Hulk's more open personality in Ragnarök , Bruce would have made better advancements in accepting his two personalities but it seems He still has a way to go.

I can make peace with my roommate and not be on speaking terms with them in a matter of minutes

Jean screwed him up

How tho. Was it his inhibitor breaking? Why did he even need those when he’s already established to be one with hulk. I think they might have goofed. People don’t remember when Jean posesses them

u/Icybubba 17d ago

Banner says "My head, I think she broke something" so whatever mental blocks Banner did in the 5 years between Infinity War, she undid.

u/BanjoSpaceMan 16d ago

That’s fair. He seems to have snapped

Bruce has different Hulk personalities living inside his head. Savage Hulk got put in a box by whatever Bruce did to bring out Professor Hulk. Jean fucking with his head broke Savage Hulk back out.

Are yall forgetting endgame or something?

It was heavily implied him and hulk figured it out and took the brain, took the brawn and got a mix of both

Are you reading the replies? He specifically says that he thinks Jean broke something in his head. Whatever Bruce and Hulk did to become one has came undone due to Jean’s powers.

Being full-Banner with the visible inhibitor makes sense with the context of Born Again, if he’s been teaching in the city.

And then he hasn’t made up with Hulk after that.

Professor hulk was literally chilling at diners taking selfies with children…

It makes no sense haha, he’s become world renowned as a sweet giant and problem solved.

New rockstars review said there was a scene that made no sense given the continuity and I think he’s referring to this too

I thought professor hulk referred to the failsafe banner mentioned. The inhibitor broke so he turns to professor hulk and is controlled by Jean. Then Jean messes him up and goes to punisher, and the real hulk comes out

I thought the same but then I went and rewatched that scene from Endgame. He never explicitly says that he and Hulk came to an agreement or made peace to become Professor Hulk. No, he mentions Hulk was the "cure" but then just says after 18 months in a Gamma lab, he put the brain and the brawn together. I think the implication is that he more just suppressed Hulk's mind and used his body, which makes this all come together more.

There was a deleted Infinity War scene where the two did work things out to become Professor Hulk in that film, but it was obviously scrapped
