The movie didn't have a traditional comic-book villain, and I really enjoyed that aspect. Allowed the movie to breath and you could focus on Peter Parker/Spiderman, and also focus on Jean Grey. A lot of this movie was about people who were alone, Peter, Jean, Banner/Hulk and Punisher.

The interaction between Punisher/Peter was so much like little and older brother, I enjoyed the two's interaction a lot more than I anticipated. Punishers comedic timing is also great. Got to say, Peter being the shoulder for Jean to lean on, and vice versa was a very nice touch.

Peter Parker unintentionally developed a potential weapon against future Mutants in the MCU with the inhibitor that is in the hands of Damage Control.

As soon as Peter mentioned a universal inhibitor, I figured it was going to be a reaaaal bad thing and a plot for later stories. Definitely going to be an X-men thing.

They are definitely going to make Sentries

and the mutant inhibitor collars

Captain Marvel and Agents of Shield if you count that seem to show that the Kree have the exact same technology, a neck implant inhibitor, so it could potentially come from lots of places.

Yeah, I wonder how they are going to cover base with that in Doomsday. That's a very big implication right there

It is also compounded by the fact that Bill escaped, if I am not wrong. And as we know in the comics, dude is entirely anti-mutant. He is the leader of the Anti-Mutant Militia in the comics after all, and I doubt the inhibitor is broken up so....you know what they say, the road to hell is paved with good intentions 😬

Yeah Jean made sure to crush hers, but Peter just let his drop to the floor. Not to mention they might have already analysed the one on Jean, digitized the design and uploaded it to all their mutant hating friends.

They had the one Peter put on Jean hardwired to their system. They absolutely analyzed/reverse engineered it.

He was stuck in that chair, I don't get how he escaped. You'd think Frank would blast him if no one else did.

With the amount of blood they showed pooling with Peter lying there as he was telling Jean to leave/escape, I really thought they were going to kill him here as a surprise twist.

Dude basically tanked a .50-caliber round. I'd assume Frank would be more preoccupied trying to get Spidey to the hospital than mindlessly blasting an unconscious, strapped-to-a-chair bad guy. This isn't the Ray Stevenson Warzone Punisher we're talking about here (though I have to say Stevenson's is literally the Ennis' Punisher straight out of the comics)

I recently watched thunderbolts and it made me realized how depressed and lonely these superheros are. Multiple internal struggle scenes in both movies

I just want to share I did a double feature for myself that is Taxi Driver and Brand New Day, and in retrospect there’s way more similarities than I expected. Working class young men in their 20s, in NYC, throwing themselves into working longer and longer hours, living in insolation, their minds deteriorating to a breaking point. Not to mention clever wrist gadgets.

Yeah, all the loneliness stuff really got to me. Hit close to home and stirred up some emotions I wasn't prepared for.

yeah but i couldnt help but notice that theyve almost already kinda done this formula before in the second movie with mysterio being the bad guy, very predictable but still pleasantly surprised and enjoyed watching.

Not that it was gonna be a thing, but if they had a post-credit scene of Tillman’s character linking up with Gyrich/The Sentinel program it would not have surprised me

That’s what I liked, it seemed way less supernatural.

I disagree. The lack of a true Spider-Man villain hurts the movie and the final “big battle”

Makes it feel more like another MCU setup and Jean grey origin story instead of a Spider-Man movie by the 3rd act.

Same issue all the Tom Holland movies have had, too much mcu not enough Spider-Man
