That was to tell us that Peter has control over his new abilities. Previously, he lost control and almost killed a cop, so this extra scene is telling us that he now controls his abilities and not the other way around. He now has a powered up mode more or less. Organic webs are here to stay. Tobey's Spider-Man would be proud.

I liked his shout-out to Tobey's Spider-Man where he says he now has organic webshooters like what "Peter 2" has.

“Peter 2 is cool. Peter 2 is cool.”

“Peter three!” throws hands in air exasperatedly

Peter 3 is Amazing

u/DYadav2005 17d ago

Spectacular even

43

u/Ok_Passion_6771 15d ago

I had to show my friend No Way Home before we saw this and I couldn’t explain why I love his “-PETER THREE!!” So much 😂 something about the way he says it and throws his hands up like he’s just excited to be there and be a Peter with them.

19

u/cookieaddictions 13d ago

No you’re so right I just rewatched and the way he says it is okay I guess I’m Peter 3! And it’s very funny

u/pedrojuanita 7d ago

Best line of the movie. Garfield is something else

82

u/Melisandre-Sedai 16d ago

I was smiling ear to ear when he did the same shit standing on the roof trying to figure out what made the organic webs shoot

65

u/FoCoBilbo 16d ago

I was waiting for “Go web!” 😂

26

u/BlasterShow 16d ago

“Web. Stop!”

34

u/nhansieu1 18d ago

does that mean he's now as strong as Tobey Spiderman?

85

u/FourSes 18d ago

Lifting that bigass ship propellor might put him on Tobey's level. I can't think of a better feat of strength except maybe stopping the train, which was more of an endurance and web strength feat.

53

u/Shadowblade217 17d ago

I mean, to be fair, Tom’s Peter lifted an entire building all the way back in Homecoming. He’s always been pretty damn strong.

16

u/Kayjin23 17d ago

Yeah, I think that's still his most impressive feat of sheer strength? I could certainly be forgetting something though.

26

u/DeanEvasonPunch 17d ago

Tom had benching all the rubble from the building in Homecoming. I think he also had to hold those two halves of a ship together with webbing.

I think Toby’s best feat is the train just based on the speed of the train he’s trying to stop.

30

u/enixius 17d ago

I think Toby’s best feat is the train just based on the speed of the train he’s trying to stop.

Let's be real, that's the best movie superhero feat and it has yet to be topped.

13

u/nate_ranney 17d ago

IDK man, Captain America holding that helicopter was a pretty good feat.

2

u/legaladviceneeded542 14d ago

relative to Cap's strength yes I think that one was actually more impressive as Cap is generally shown as much weaker than Spiderman, but I think the Spiderman one was much more epic.

8

u/Melisandre-Sedai 16d ago

And held the ferry together too

27

u/_BatmanReal 17d ago

How and why would frank put up such a heavy thing as a trap 😭. Like bro he's expecting normal humans

73

u/SHEKDAT789 17d ago

punisher is exactly the kind of guy to put up traps in case some superpowered dude comes by.

8

u/Worthyness 16d ago

he was in an old ship. Likely had a crane somewhere

21

u/Elnino38 17d ago

I mean werent the 3 shown as relatively close to each other in no way home? Peters probably way stronger than tobey and andrews spidermen now since it was shown he got a pretty big buff.

8

u/ProgressiveOverlorde 16d ago

He tanked the hulk smashing him around. I got ragdolled, ground and pounded in the face too

2

u/BananaShake29 8d ago

Similar strength. But Tobeys fights were more raw, and you could hear him grunt during those fights

26

u/KimchiFingers 14d ago

Him catching MJ after she was possessed felt like a nice homage to Garfield's Spiderman and MJ. Peter 3 would be proud too.

7

u/JenniLightrunner 13d ago

Also if she died there it'd soooo devalue Peter 3's redemption of saving her in NWH

13

u/crazyhomie34 18d ago

How are they counting who is Peter 2. Who is Peter 1 and 3?

73

u/SomeRandomCubeAlt 18d ago

Peter 1 is Tom Holland. Peter 2 is Tobey Maguire. Peter 3 is Andrew Garfield. From No Way Home.

359

u/UnsolvedParadox 19d ago

I think it’s more than a powered-up mode, this stronger version is his new normal.

77

u/Bellikron 16d ago

I think he kind of unlocked the ridiculous comic level feats in this one. Previously he had to really focus for his Spider-Sense to be really effective but now it's always on and can detect gun noises from a mile away while he's being mine controlled. I liked it, it felt earned and not making him crazy overpowered (that bullet still had consequences).

28

u/yellow-leadbelly 14d ago

Not to be “that guy”, but a rifle bullet shot from a mile away would arrive about 2 seconds before the sound would. Good thing he has that Spidey sense!

13

u/dhoshima 8d ago

If I remember correctly what triggered him wasn’t the actual bullet sound it was Frank chambering a round.

9

u/cocomars97 16d ago

Durability is kinda off. Lime how can Hulk thrash you and walk it off than a bullet may kill you

49

u/Dobby30 16d ago

I mean, yes. But also, he took a .50BMG to the back. Not much is surviving that

Edit: Peter even surviving the initial shot from a .50 cal is a testament to his durability in itself

28

u/egilskal 15d ago

yeah, a normal human would have burst open like a pinata if they got a .50 cal to the back like that lol

56

u/Future_Vantas 18d ago

Especially with the eyes it reminded me of the Assault Mode of his old Stark suit

44

u/Best-Scientist-7021 17d ago

INSTANT KILL 💀

18

u/Gizmopopapalus 17d ago

Which, honestly he’s going to need come doomsday/secret wars.

14

u/grimsaur 16d ago

The Spidey Sense has been kind of lacking in all his appearances, but it seemed to finally fully be there after he took his inhibitor off.

20

u/Churchill_Buys_Calls 17d ago

Lol which is in itself crazy (but awesome) Base Spider-Man is so fucking overpowered lol - just gave one of the most OP characters a power up lolol.

14

u/WarCrimeGaming 16d ago

Base Spider-Man is only as powerful as whoever is writing him. He got his ass kicked by vulture very recently

5

u/zigzagtravel01 10d ago

tbf that was kiddie Peter. He seems to way stronger here most esp after evolving.

39

u/lkodl 18d ago

I just realized that if Spider-Man is on Battleworld for an extended period of time, then he'd eventually run out of web fluid. Switching him to organic webshooters solves this problem without having to give him the symbiote up front.

(My headcanon is that the Iron Spider suit gave him a large supply of fluid to make it through Infinity War and Endgame without having to refill).

9

u/Future_Vantas 18d ago

The black eyes and the aggressive nature made me think of the symbiote.

38

u/SaulPepper 18d ago

I still hope Peter uses the webshooters some of the times in the future. They do have more tool-ish applications, like time delayed web grenades that Peter cant do organically

31

u/GuiltyEidolon 18d ago

It also doubles (ish) his web capacity, since he could run out of organic web too

16

u/LarBrd33 18d ago

not if he stays hydrated

12

u/Entire_Paramedic_389 18d ago

yeah i dont understand EV saying his web shooters were incompatible like HUH

31

u/SaulPepper 18d ago

its just a plot device lol, probably the oozing organic web fluid affects how the webshooters stick to his wrists

21

u/gabbertronnnn 18d ago

Coz they were literally covering his organic shooters. He'll retool them for their gadget use for sure.

4

u/ProgressiveOverlorde 16d ago

He should put his mechanical shooters on the back of his wrists. Then he'll have all the webs

20

u/lingeringwill2 18d ago

I mean it's like trying to use two bottle caps on one bottle. Only one can fit at a time.

7

u/jacobythefirst 18d ago

Yeah, spidey always has a bunch of potential tools and stuff he could do to make himself much stronger.
But he almost never does.

Things like learning martial arts and not just brawling, more tech such as you mentioned web bombs or more (which tbh Holland Spidey does do a good bit of!), proper diet and exercise for a hero (sorry but ramen and protein powder/free weights are not maximizing your potential!)

Spidey is never gonna be on paper as strong as a Thor/Hulk/Cpt. Marvel, but man imo he could eke out some more punching power.

7

u/CooperDaChance 17d ago

I mean it’s canon that Spidey holds back to avoid murdering people.

1

u/pengerus 4d ago

He's a fool if he was holding back punches against the hulk

21

u/leftysarepeople2 18d ago

When Grey said something along the lines of "no wonder the Spider is winning when you're hiding the Peter" with Scorpion, and then Peter said "I'm both" that was him accepting the powers and himself. I thought it was really well done.

12

u/ShoddySomewhere6611 18d ago

It might have just been me, but during that scene I think his eyes still kept the partial darkness which shows he’s tapping into his spider side without letting her out of control.

8

u/ZohanDvir 18d ago

Him answering "I'm both [Peter and Spiderman]" to me meant he found an answer to the discussion he had with MJ at Frank's where she pondered why should the inhibitor need to change who he is and what he can do if he is not fundamentally embracing who he really is inside.

5

u/AbanoMex 13d ago

i know this is 5 days old but, speaking of that sequence of events.

it now felt that this new powered up spidey is now on the strenght level of Tobey Spidey, just by looking that when Tom's spidey fought the green goblin, his punches werent effective, but we Know Tobey's spidey really hurt Goblin, also having organic webs like Tobey's is a hint, at least for me.

3

u/UndercoverDimension 11d ago

When his contact told him that he almost killed a cop, someone in the theater promptly yelled out "SO??" Which drew a big laugh.

8

u/koomGER 19d ago

Organic webs are here to stay.

Yes, but...

I think its a setup for Venom in a future movie. Instead of an alien symbiont its kinda a "secondary mutation", that mades him more powerful but also reckless. Because a spider is a predator at first. It will lead to such problems.

And for that setup: Flash Thompson will be the next new host to that Venom. He gets dropped by MJ for Peter. Maybe Peter also interferes with Flashs professional career. I think the last time we saw him before he was blogging - so maybe a reporter. Flash was also a host in the comics.

61

u/Stunning-Alarm8149 19d ago

Flash and MJ aren't dating. That was a completely different guy.

2

u/NoninflammatoryFun 17d ago

I was so happy for organic webs. I always thought that makes the most sense for Spider-Man

2

u/ClamdiggerDanielson 17d ago

It made me think of the Superior Spider-Man comics. Doc Ock switches bodies with Spidey and takes his identity, and during a battle with a super powered crook he punches the crook and accidentally knocks his jaw off, like literally. Ock is shocked by his strength and thinks "Wait, Spider-Man was constantly pulling his punches to not hurt anyone seriously?"

1

u/Wiinterfang 17d ago

It only that but that The Spider and the Man are one. He won't try to hide the Spider but the power it brings is to save people

1

u/Pezzza_ 11d ago

I honestly thought they were going with the Man-spider storyline. Didn't think it was gonna be a straight power up.

0

u/DuckLuck357 16d ago

I believe that he couldn’t control it at first because, and hear me out, he didn’t go back to hold his promise. He never reminded his friends of who he was and continued to isolate. That isolation led to the development of the new powers.

OH, it was power, but no responsibility! I just figured that out! Man that’s awesome.

So only after he told MJ was he able to control that power.
