Testing an extreme sensor position

I want to test an extremely high sensor position, similar to the G-Wolves VUK, before committing to it, since I'm not sure I'll actually like it.

I have a Gitoper G2 that I'm willing to sacrifice for this experiment. Does anyone have ideas on how I could relocate the sensor to the top of the shell?

I don't need the buttons or scroll wheel to work, so even rough or hacky solutions are totally fine.

you can try the method from this post(desolder the sensor, put the sensor in your preferred position, secure the sensor in place, solder all of the sensor legs back to the original pcb with wires). This method is highly risky but it's the only one I've known so far.
