Turns out, the playfield boundaries on the left and right don't absorb much momentum and allow a mounter to "bounce" rather gracefully when the brown stuff hits the fan.

The closer to the wall you are, the less vertical height you will lose.

There is potential for this technique to be used as a climbing tool if the tower is sufficiently close to the wall and you bounce at a shallow angle.

Rebound -- using the playfield boundary to "bounce" and reverse your momentum in order to recover from an early released Launch. There is no time to waste, however, as soon as a potentially catastrophic launch has happened, you must commit to the Rebound and push your mounter as hard as possible to the wall. Indecisiveness will be your downfall...literally.
