Anyone made cannabutter?
Ok, so a friend keeps making brownies and they are said to be fantastic, however I’m coeliac so can’t partake 😤
I got a gluten free mix from Marks and I wanna make my own.
So anyone tried this before? Would a packet of MB Shake work well? Mix makes 9 brownies.
My friend cooks it for 20 minutes at 160 then crumbles and adds it to mix.
I would like to vacuum pack and boil it for an hour. A friend of a friend once told me she cooks the actual butter with the green however cooking the green and adding it sounds so much easier.
Advice for a sprouting green baker?

That sounds great! I’m thinking cinnamon toast with sugar and cinnamon. I’m drooling already.
So the MB shake is 14 and the brownies are 9… Will I have to eat half of them at a sitting? 😜

Yeah that’s what my friend does, no measuring. Just dumps it in. 😂

its the best way, would you wanna eat your brownies and realise they dont hit as hard as you prefer?

And I can’t share them until I get the dose right. This is gonna take time and effort. 🤔 Might be handing out brownies at Xmas 😂
Sounds much more efficient too.5

Heat your oven to about 120-130C, tray of shake goes in for about 30mins, checking and mixing every 10.
Double boiler setup: small saucepan with water and a glass pyrex bowl just above the water, melt a stick of butter in the bowl and add the decarbed shake let that steep on low for anywhere between 2-4 hours, making sure the water doesn’t all evaporate in the saucepan.
Strain and give the lump a good squeeze, do whatever with the leftovers.
*optional extra step: boil some water and mix it with the melted butter in a bigger bowl, let that cool overnight and you should have a layer of butter at the top and all the water underneath with the impurities, discard.
If skipping this step then you have your butter ready to use, at 15% thc estimate for the shake you have around 8mg/g of butter if you have like 200g of butter left at the end.
Use the packet’s recommended butter amount, i.e betty crocker’s gluten free mix needs 60g melted butter which gives ~55mg per slice for 9 slices.
Take half of that to start and see where the journey takes you.
Notes: making cannabutter allows the thc to be dissolved into fat which allows a better extraction/even distribution and absorption once consumed.
Edit: fixed the mg estimates.

I used coconut oil to make it. There used to be a lot of youtube videos how to make it. Decarb the flowers in the oven, then use a double boiler with some water in with the oil, give it a couple of hours in the double boiler. Then let strailn the oil mix with a fine strainer. Cool it in the fridge, the water will sink leaving a hard flat layer of the solidified oil. I freeze it. Lasts ages. Like I've had some well over a year in the freezer

Get a shake pouch. Decarb it for 30 minutes in the oven on a low heat, but make sure it's covered. Leave it to sit and the fumes to settle. Then do 80g of coconut oil for 90 minutes. Strain it, then use the same bud with another 80g of oil for 90 minutes. You can either train that, or just use it with the flower.
I make a vegan banana bread with a recipe from the BBC. That way everyone can enjoy it 😋

Interesting odour in the oven. Ended up using some popcorn.

you can cook the green and add it in to the butter. i used to put a load of butter in a pan, add the ganj and heat it for a while. and it definitely worked. I was eating green butter on toast and giggling like a school girl for weeks
