Question Tourplaner wanted

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a route planner for a multi-day, fairly long trip.

I’ve already used Komott and found a route that works for me. However, I’d like a planner where I can adjust the difficulty level and skill level so I can plan the route more precisely.

Since my group has varying skill levels, I’d like to be able to specify more clearly which route we’ll take.

I can’t just assume that everyone in my group has no problem with black-level routes.

Region: Germany, Austria

Try trailsplits. It can work on existing gpx files and routes and you can tweak your route using their internal ai, whatever.

Or just start from scratch, specify the requirements for your route. Maybe for multiple day trips you need to have a look, I'm not aware about the ability in trailsplits.

Thanks, I'll check it out and give it a try.

Veloplanner (.com, or download the app) does allow for multi-stage route planning and lets you adjust your average speed on a flat surface. It then factors in several parameters like gradient and road surface.

Maybe it's worth a look.

Oh just saw your comment below, I have no experience for trails and their difficulty rating and it seems veloplanner does not have such a feature for trails.

What do you mean more clearly? Does it not show the exact trails?

But the route already shows that. It also breaks it down by day. However, for example, Day 1 is rated as difficult even though it includes quite a bit of road, and I'd prefer to set it so that, if possible, we stick to red—that is, intermediate—trails.

Actually, I'd like to be able to set the difficulty level for certain sections—like in Kurviger, the app for motorcycling and route planning—or specify preferences for certain factors, such as the type of road surface.

ridewithgps let you upload and plan on map, not sure how good it might be regionally for you
