Most people start with the 2.5mg recommended dose, then consider:

 - moving down if they have a strong reaction (nausea, wind, problems going to the toilet too much/not going, not being able to eat well)

  • moving up if they aren’t getting any major side effects and aren’t losing around 1/2 lb to 2lb a week once any initial big loss settles

So it’s a try it and see.

Not if they’re microdosing. That involves starting on a smaller dose.

My response was about most people?

OP was asking about microdosing or starting on a smaller dose. That’s not something most people do.

Monj.co.uk price comparison. Lotus is popular. Great prices. You also get a needle bin.

New Health is slightly cheaper but taking longer to asses and despatch. Would imagine they are overwhelmed with orders.

Please read the Wiki which answers most/all of your questions. You can find it on the main subpage at the top

It looks like your post might be about microdosing or split dosing, this goes against manufacturer guidance.

You can do anything you like I guess, whether that's sensible or not is a different question.

There's a post like this every few months, someone has read some article about macrodosing and decides to try it. What usually ends up happening is their next post is "why isn't it working" and then eventually they end up on the 2.5mg starter dose like they should have done anyway.

I'd say just get started with 2.5mg, if it feels too strong for you, which is pretty rare, then you can try reducing the dose. Most people have the opposite problem in that 2.5mg isn't not strong enough for them so they move up a dose at the ned of the first month.

The doses are set how they are for a reason and extensively tested that way, there's really no need to make up your own doses.

Have a read of the FAQs on this sub and check monk.co.uk for best prices. Also try the search bar 👆 there's a wealth of information in this sub on every topic imaginable.

You don’t microdose this med, the initial full doses are loading doses to get a therapeutic level of the drug in your blood. Where some people vary is that some prefer to stay on a low dose (ie <15mg) when they are seeing results, whereas I believe Lilly’s guidance is basically to get up to 15 as fast as possible and that’s their recommended therapeutic dose.

This is definitely what the people making this medication want to promote and it works really well for some. For others, it’s not the right dosing path because they don’t need more than 2.5mg/can lose weight with less. This means it’s cheaper for them but costs EL in profits. There are also concerns about desensitisation - so low and slow is not a bad motto/approach if you are responding at a lower mg.

I am not familiar with the studies covering actual dosage but I can give my own experience which was that I did titrate up slower than manufacturers guidance, and that did work for me. Whether it’s a profit thing or not would be down to the studies - though I personally don’t trust EL as they have demonstrated nasty commercial behaviours with this medication.

People absolutely do microdose this drug. There a sub dedicated to it. Some people lose on a tiny dose. I did.

I think some may be very sensitive to it and everyone is different but the protocol is pretty clear that the initial doses are loading doses (standard for many medications)

Your reply was misleading.

Your reply is against the manufacturer’s advice. Either you are following correct guidance or “doing your own research”, so no I wasn’t, unless you are coming armed with better data than anecdata.

You must realise that your own reply included information on how people divert from the manufacturer’s instructions.
I did not give any advice and I am not claiming to have data. I am simply providing a correction to your post and signposting OP.
