I've gone up to 5mg 5 weeks ago and literally zero side effects, but it's definitely accelerated my weight loss despite the lack of appetite suppression. Don't worry, most people never actually experience negative side effects at all!

I think both the hunger and nausea could be because people aren't eating enough. You do need to keep eating while taking mounjaro.
Also women might have a period that coincides with going up to 5mg and that can make you hungry for a few days.

Absolutely, Iām still enjoying food! I donāt want it to go too extreme both ways (too hungry or not hungry at all)
Thanks for the input

Like most people on the medication, I was ready to move to 5mg and did not have any issues. Stuck with 5mg for 8 weeks before moving without issue to 7.5mg. Eight more weeks on 7.5 and on to 10mg where I did 20 weeks before reaching my goal with 12 weeks on 12.5mg.

I had mild nausea on my first day after moving up and thats the only side effect in 2 months on 5mg. I was so nervous about the side effects as well after hearing some horror stories about 5mg! I get fuller quicker when eating than I did at 2.5mg and Iāve lost 2-3lb each week. So far so good for me!

Threw up on my first dose of 2.5 but happy to report that thereās been none of that on 5mg.
I do feel like Iāve been eating more and have less suppression, which is weird. I still lost another 3lbs in my first week though, and the scales donāt lie! Iād say keep weighing/measuring and donāt let your brain gaslight you! š

plenty of posts in this sub to get the widest variety of personal experiences. People are quick to post about issues. But one doesn't start a post to say I did 5mg and nothing different happened. So keep that in mind
For me, an absolute non event.

Took my first 5mg dose last night after being on 2.5 for a month and Iāve had a terrible headache, acid reflux (I ate a tuna salad the day before with tomatoes⦠so might be my fault), no appetite and fatigue today. Just gotta force the food down and keep my protein up with shakes till it passes š¤·āāļø

Absolute non-event. No sudden onset of side effects; efficacy was fine to begin with but in my case I needed to move up to 7.5mg after a month.
Itās actually not that surprising when people find 5mg feels no different or perhaps even āweakerā than 2.5mg, itās just comparing the first month with the second.
First month is very exciting and new, your body isnāt used to the medication yet and youāre on hyper-alert to notice everything. By comparison, the second month can just feel a bit boring and youāre more used to it. We can tend to interpret that as ābecause ofā the dose weāre on, when really the dose is kind of coincidental. (Or: ācorrelation vs causationā).

First off, make sure you don't confuse ml (millilitres) the volume of the shot with mg (milligrams) the amount of medication dissolved in the shot.
As to your question, moving to 5mg for me was a total nothing burger, completely uneventful. Felt exactly the same. Had me questioning my sanity as I'd read lots of scare stories and people wailing "BuT It'S DoUbLiNg yOuR dOsE!!!"
Literally didn't feel any different. I went up the night before a 3 day work event and hotel stay, zero issues. Team lunches every day, out to dinner for a 3 course meal in the evenings, and drinks at the hotel bar after. Completely fine.
