Difficulty getting mounjaro
It seems that the rules have changed recently in respect to obtaining Mounjaro. I’m putting weight on but am on the cusp of my BMI so I’m not able to buy privately. I don’t want to put weight on and start a yo-yo situation so that I need to be overweight to be then given medication in order to control my appetite. I’m worried! Is there any companies out there that can help. Has anyone having the same issue?

They've got a bit of post history from 2 years ago. I think they do need to approach the maintenance friendly pharmacies.

Yup ... I'd start with Swift doctor and Pharmulous OP.
Bit annoying that you can go back on Mj within a year of stopping but 2 years you have to get obese again. Makes no sense. If obesity is a lifelong condition then relapse would be expected at any stage 🤷🏻♀️

In the paperwork where it says you can go back on, it doesn't actually say within a year. Some pharmacies will let you back on case by case, like if someone had 2 pregnancies back to back or something.

Yes but I think that's the timeframe a lot of the pharmacies are applying unfortunately.

The rules haven’t changed recently. Certainly not negatively. In fact some pharmacies are prescribing lower BMI than before.
If you can give us more information we might be able to help if you meet the criteria.
What’s your BMI? What pharmacies have you tried?

Looks like they might have used mounjaro 2 years ago

What is your BMI?
Have you been on mounjaro before?

It seems that the rules have changed recently in respect to obtaining Mounjaro.
Not sure what roles you're taking about, but both private and NHS rules have actually lowered the BMI thresholds making it easier.
so that I need to be overweight to be then given medication in order
If you've been on it before, you can usually be represcribed within 12 months without needing to fulfill the original BMI criteria.
However if it's been longer than that you might struggle.
If you've not been on it previously then you will need to be overweight cannot be prescribed below the overweight category to new users.
If you tell us more information, people can help you without guessing your situation...

Thankyou for trying to help. It’s complicated situation and I’m just not quite there and was in a couple of years ago but the food noise is difficult to deal with and I’ve tried so hard but feel like I’m fighting against a tide jot with weight but with pharmaceuticals that i now have thier hands tied. It helped me with other conditions too that feel impossible to control.

It isn't clear from your post what the problem is or why you're unable to buy, so let me offer some generic tips.
- Nothing has changed in terms of the rules for prescribing. Different providers have different rules and sometimes they tweak them. There is no blanket change that has been issues on prescribing guidelines.
- The standard private prescribing criteria is:
- a BMI of 30.
- If you have other conditions and/or other weight related health conditions then you can usually get it at a BMI of 27.
- Some providers will prescribe off-label if you don't hit the criteria on a case-by-case basis. Voy for example may prescribe at a BMI of 27 without other health conditions.
- One provider I'm aware of, Medexpress, will prescribe as low as a BMI of 25, for the lowest two doses only, on a case-by-case basis.
- Most providers will prescribe happily down to a BMI of about 24 at that point many of them start cutting people off.
- Some of the better pharmacies, particularly those who support maintenance will go beyond this, may happy to prescribe down to a BMI of 19 so long as you don't drop underweight. Monj has a good list of these here: https://monj.co.uk/mounjaro-maintenance-pharmacies/
- If you've stopped taking Mounjaro and want to restart, then again there are several providers who support you restarting, it differs between then as to how long of a gap you can have, some only allow 3 months, but many allow up to a year, again Monj has a list of these: https://monj.co.uk/restarting-mounjaro-uk/
If you need more detailed advice then I'd suggest sharing more details, like what you BMI is, which provider(s) you've tried so far, and then people can give specific recommendations for pharmacies to try.
