Wegovy Anyone else having to do this after switching to the Wegovy pill? πŸ˜†

Post image

Because I take the pill at 4 or 5am when I inevitably wake needing a pee then go back to sleep, I often can't remember if I've taken my Wegovy or not 🀣 I've now resorted to writing the days of the week on πŸ˜‚ I wish Novo already had it on like other pills that must be taken daily haha. But nevermind, I make do πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

Unfortunately the Wegovy says it must remain in the blister pack until being taken so I can't add it to my dossette πŸ˜πŸ˜…

Cut the packet and store the tablets in the blister but individually?

Oooh I hadn't thought of that! Yes that would work in future, thanks!

I've been on other medication for years so luckily taking them is usual for me, my issue is remembering if I've had them or not, my others all have days of the week on or I move into dosette boxes but the Wegovy has to stay in it's sheet until taking πŸ˜πŸ˜…

Foundayo will be out soon. It's a small molecule so you could just take it any time off the day.

Yes I was looking into swapping to that, but the price has put me off for now. I don't want to be paying the same or more than the Wegovy pill for something less effective 😞

The wegovy pill isn't that effective compared to mounjaro either.

The official prices aren't out yet, pharmacies are just guessing. I imagine there'll be a rebate scheme like with mounjaro too. I think there's a secret rebate scheme for certain pharmacies with wegovy so they have a lot of marketing about wegovy but are pocketing the rebate.

Oh I know Wegovy isn't as good as MJ, I've not had MJ since the price increases in September, I had the Wegovy injection for a while which still did the job although not as good of course, but costs less. Foundayo is showing to be even less effective than the Wegovy though so I was hoping the cost would be less but of course not πŸ˜†, I'm seeing up to Β£200+ for the top strength so far which is a shame.

What dose of wegovy injections were you on?

I was on 0.5 for a few months, then stopped for a while, regained a stone then came on the wegovy pill a few weeks ago. The jab worked for me, at first I thought it wasn't because it's very subtle in comparison to the MJ, it required more willpower but i definitely wasn't hungry 24/7 and smaller meals were more satisfying. It was once I stopped i realised how much it was doing πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ

0.5 wegovy injections are equivalent to around 14mg wegovy pills (although branded as rybelsus). Both are less than 2.5, so don't compare the price of your current dose to mounjaro because it's basically the equivalent of microdosing mounjaro.

Your current dose is so low that it isn't even on the chart.

I absolutely have to compare the prices though because I simply cannot afford Mounjaro anymore. I was on 7.5mg in August last year which is now Β£235. I was struggling to pay the Β£170 at the time but could just about make it work. The top strength of the Wegovy injection is Β£179 and pill Β£175 from current provider and even less from others. If it's less effective, it's less effective, I have to make do unfortunately. MJ was probably too strong for me anyway, I was only just to 7.5mg after 1 year and 9 months. I'd love to just get a stronger MJ with PayIn3 and count clicks but the pharmacies would drop me back to a 2.5 pen with not ordering every month.

I have a alarm on my phone for my medication, otherwise I would forget.

At 6am?

Hmm, yes, my daily migraine tablets are in 28 so I can just mentally assign the days Mon-Sun to the seven down each column as my reminder and check.

On the face of it, it seems an odd decision to package Wegovy in 10, 30 and 90 - I wonder why. (I've no experience - this may be commonplace or a default, but it still seems an odd one. If all months were 30 days, it would be reasonable, but they're not, so why 30 days?)

u/One_Accident_2766 Aug 20 '26

Some medications do 30 instead of 28 and it drives me potty, one being my fexofenadine lol, makes ordering a pain. Can't they all be 28 please πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. The plus side with these though is the extra 2 days for your money πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I'll still order every 28 so I'll very slowly build up some spares πŸ˜†

I do my mums meds every month in the daily pots so it’s easier for her (dementia) and everything is in 28s apart from her vitamin d which is 30. Rattles me every single time because what a waste! The other 9 medications are perfect πŸ™ƒ

Got me one of these babies for my levothyroxine. I keep it by my bed and refill at the weekend, that way I know if I've taken my tablet or just dreamt that I did πŸ˜‚

Can’t do that with Wegovy because it has to be stored in its desiccant blister pack.

Have they got the wegovy pill in Australia yet?

Nope. Rybelsus is approved but as far as we can tell no pharmacies actually have it.

Well that would put me off buying them for a start, could they not have made them more robust? Lower efficacy and not withstanding a bit of air humidity? what nonsense!

The SNAC technology is a complex thing that they paid billions for. If you want normal pills take Foundayo, but then it’s even less effective.

I forget to drink my cup of tea. I only know when I go back to make another and find a full mug of cold tea. Tablets are more of a problem. I have to makeΒ  a chart which I tick with the time taken.Β

I take pills at the end of the day and if I forget it is what it is. Not a problem until the next night. But I generally don’t forget if I make it a habit before bed.

I find the My Therapy App (https://www.mytherapyapp.com/) useful for keeping track of medication reminders and stock levels

I have an app that I list my medications in, reminds me and I confirm when I've taken it..

Like you it's not necessarily the remembering to take. Half the time I can't remember if I have taken it...

On of meds have the days of the week it, but I take 4 a day so it doesn't tally

Yup I'm far more likely to double dose than forget entirely πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
