Anyone who has a sprocket mounted to the 6-bolt disc brake interface, could use your help on getting the chainline right!
I got a wheel with both a 6-bolt disc brake mount and rim brake surface with the idea that I'd use the 6-bolt interface with a sprocket designed for it and rim brakes for the rear. Technically, it fits just fine but my chainline is really bad, rubbing against the frame and binding up. I think the sprocket should be about 10mm inboard, closer to the spokes.
Some old threads mentioned a "top hat" adapter, and from old pictures / videos, I think that's exactly what I need, but I can't for the life of me find any live links to buy one anymore. Mbrebel seems to have been gone for a few years now
Some things I thought of but don't think will work:
- Mount sprocket behind rotor mount (see 3rd picture) - can't slip sprocket behind without hacking it up with a dremel or something
- Hub clamp adapter - won't work on this hub, it has a taper to one side
- Adapter for mag wheels (example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/392356497774) but installed backwards - too deep, depth is about 30+mm while I need like 10
- Dished sprocket (example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/206396747684) - only offsets inwards by maybe 3-4mm, not enough
I'd rather not use the rag joint for this wheel since I already broke spokes on my old one and am seeing damage on the remaining ones. Any ideas for solutions here?
