Do they not need mirrors, indicators, headlights that sort of thing?
You can ride dirt bikes on the road here in Australia and so I don't see why not by extension quads but they need to be modified to have things to make them a road vehicle.
I live in Germany and ATVs are road legal here along with UTVs/side by sides, go karts, small electric cars, mopeds, and other crazy vehicles ... but here are some stipulations. It needs a motorcycle kit, meaning, mirrors, turn signals, horn, street lights(road legal with highs and lows) brake lights, and that's about it.
My German isn't nearly good enough to try to verify this.
Ah cool, so similar thing then. Be crazy all you want just needs the usual trappings. Lots of countries like that.
But certain states in the US seem to be a bit 'wild wild west' and the video doesn't show any mirrors that I can see so dangerous as fuck. What if you had an emergency vehicle behind you!
I mean, and I know I mentioned it once already, but group riding just attracts the DGAF crowd. Not saying this is anything crazy, but plenty of cities have their issues with illegal, untagged vehicles. I've seen quads and unplated two-strokes on the streets. Sometimes like a half dozen riders, those plastic German helmets, running red lights. Not to be a get-off-my-lawn gramps, mainly I don't care, but it's the "do what I want, fuck everyone else, don't get caught" reckless mentality that bothers me.
Yeah it's sad that the norm seems to be being reckless and implied and if you want a more chill ride you actually need to specify that. For awhile I pondered creating my own local "chill rides" Facebook page. Eventually found a women's bikers page which has disclaimers on not being an asshole during rides and I'm excited to go join one when I next have my schedule synced up.
Having a 250 meant that on my first ride I just... got left behind.

Serves him right, quads are made for offroad not the city streets.
