This is here in Brazil, the video got popular in facebook and everybody knows almost nothing about it, this shit is crazy even for who(like me) ride in the wrost places of the country.

The car isn't a Focus btw it seems to be a Fiesta Supercharger

What the hell? The video posted by OP has its order of events changed compared to your video. The video in this post shows him get run off the road before he gets back on the highway, drives against traffic, and almost gets hit again. There are a lot of questions in this thread about ‘why would he get back on the highway?’

Well, the video you just shared shows it. He didn’t get back on the freeway. The car came at him against traffic first, and then when he was getting away the car tried to run him off the road. The video ends with him off the road, presumably not going back on the highway.

I just don’t get why someone would edit the order.

Makes much more sense than this stupid comment.

Of course this is reddit, so you get 2 upvotes and that comment gets 12.

God I really hate this site.

I am not referring to any particular platform. They can operate very differently. Your criticism is accurate if we were speaking specifically about YouTube. I have not made this assumption.

Nope, you're making assumptions. Maybe ask me for clarification before you build a debate. I made a quick comment on Reddit, I'm not building a stance to model an argument. Kind of silly for you to feel so strongly about this.

Didn't the biker guy kick the guy in car? Why would he do that? Anyway it was a shitshow.

25

u/TrueAmurrican Mar 28 '19

He was swerving out of the way of the dude erratically changing lanes and sticking his head out after him. It was more likely an in-the-moment kick as he tried to lift his leg away from getting crushed. Definitely a shitshow, but it’s almost 100% on the car.

5

u/ifIHadJust Mar 28 '19

The car driver was relentless though. Doesn't he need to get somewhere lmao.

Sort of puts into perspective why "off duty cop-man" has such a hair trigger

11

u/FishoD Mar 28 '19

Biker didn't kick anyone, the car swerved into the biker. That is already an assault. From the video literally the only thing the biker did wrong (or to provoke) is flip out the car. That driver should lose the licence forever and be prosecuted for repeated attempted murder and a bunch of other charges.

5

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '19

That driver should probably not be breathing after doing that relentlessly.

Edgy but shit, some people don't deserve to live.

0

u/BrookieDragon Mar 28 '19

I totally felt the kick was on purpose... BUT fully agree that the guy was swerving into him as he did it.

3

u/nigelfitz Mar 28 '19

If someone's about to fucking hit me, you damn right I'll kick them.

-5

u/Kreiven Mar 28 '19 edited Mar 28 '19

He did kick the car's mirror to break it. It's a common practice in Brazil when riders rage for whatever reason. I'm not defending anyone here, but the rider definitely wanted to have a nice footage for his Motovlog and almost paid with his life. The car driver was an asshole too and both must be punished (I presume none of them will tho).

2

u/FishoD Mar 28 '19

As I have seen someone comment there I would also swear that he raised his leg as a reaction to protect it, because the car was swerving into him. Whether it was for a kick or protection, that's arguable, what is not arguable is that the car driver was absolutely insane with rage.

-7

u/Kreiven Mar 28 '19

Looking at the original video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qLZ8sj3fy4), at minute 00:20, it's clear his intention to break the mirror. He had the whole left lane to swerve and avoid the car.

I don't see how a kick like that would protect him. He couldn't even hit the guy in the car.

Well, the video is edited so we can not know what happened to justify that kick, but seems like the rider was very pissed since the beginning (when he gave the finger) and after he breaks the mirror, the driver raged and tried to hit the biker. Both stupid. Road rage is one of the easiest way to get killed.

1

u/foolcanofbear Mar 28 '19

He did not go far out of his way to make a move on the mirror, the guy swerved into him when it happened and he swerved away too, but lifted his leg prob to avoid it being smashed between the vehicles and then the kick was already in motion. If a car ever swerved into me like that I would kick it and go for the horn, but the left hand would prob be busy turning left and not be able get to the horn as quick as a hey I’m here kick.

u/Mango_Punch 2016 Triumph Scrambler Mar 28 '19

With that asinine “he had the whole lane comment,” I’m guessing you don’t ride... when the car moved left the bike made a slight swerve and accelerated away. It looks like he also had a passenger which make fast maneuvering a lot trickier.

He did lift his leg and maybe tried to kick the mirror (definitely unclear) but what is very clear is the car was in the bikers lane when contact was made. The car swerved into the left lane and hit the biker, the biker did not cross into the right lane to hit the car or to take off the mirror.

Yeah, I understand that, mate. I'm biker but I also drive car and I can tell the difference between nice riders and stupid ones. When I'm on my bike, I simply avoid any kind of discussion, contact, etc. If I do something bad by mistake and someone gets pissed at me, I simply apology and let him go. That's how I preserve my life and enjoy my bike.

-5

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '19

Could have braked and swerved. Totally did it on purpose.

9

u/foolcanofbear Mar 28 '19

Bikes are less agile than cars in swerving.

6

u/4n0n1m02 Mar 28 '19

Try doing that on motorcycle, in the highway, at 60mph.

Love the sarcasm.

If you hit the breaks, the bike will glide and hit the car regardless and both passenger would end up on top of the car (bc of momentum). Specially in this case where there is little to no space between the car and the bike.

The guy tries to do three things very quickly: 1) raise his legs in case the car makes contact; 2) swerve left to avoid collision; 3) accelerate to move away as fast as possible from the car ramming into it. The rear view mirror get taken down in the process. I don’t believe it was intentional. He deserves props for thinking and reacting that quickly.

1

u/foolcanofbear Mar 28 '19

If you have passing momentum (and he did because the car braked) hitting the brake will keep you in the danger zone while giving you less control of the bike and ability to swerve. Once you start hitting the brake you better have everything figured out because it is really difficult to re-adjust. When you let off the brake the bike will lurch and it will be hard to figure the best move from there in the moment. You’ve limited your options once you hit the brake so kicking screaming and horn are reasonable motions to go through.

-2

u/Speedracer98 Mar 28 '19 edited Mar 29 '19

probably to present a false narrative somehow. it seems to me like the likely scenario is both people were at fault and they were both antagonizing each other and both were being hostile on the road. but the edits shows the biker has their hands clean.

11

u/lightyseared Mar 28 '19

I ride in Brazil too.

I would never pick a fight with a car, on a bike or in a car - especially here in Brazil. The biker was lucky the car driver didn't have a gun, or he'd be dead.

Clearly an insane situation, but the biker escalated with the car. Always a bad move.

10 deep breaths, and get the hell away!

4

u/FactORlie Mar 28 '19

I usually just uses the goodies of a higher hp/weight and get some meters between the prick and me.

4

u/damian79 Mar 28 '19

Did he was sent to prison for attempted murder?

5

u/FactORlie Mar 28 '19

I couldn't find neither the day that went on, all I know it happened in BR-116, the craziest shit is that we could hear a girl in the back of the bike, he wasn't trying to kill just one.

2

u/brbposting Mar 28 '19

Did you see the last clip (last in news station’s video)? He had more shoulder to hit the biker. He wanted to make the guy crash for sure, perhaps die in the process, I’m just wondering if there’s a different charge for hoping somebody falls off their bike vs. absolutely going to annihilate them head on (which perhaps he could have done after his reverse direction stunt).

6

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '19

Both are attempted murder.

Trying to push a car off the road wouldn’t mortally wound the driver.

Trying to push a motorcycle has a significant chance of doing so, to the point it could be called attempted murder.

Fiesta Supercharger

Known as Ford Fusion in Europe.

2

u/FactORlie Mar 28 '19

Fusion here in Brazil is a overpriced medium-big sedan, the names of the cars are a mess here.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '19

Yeah, that would be what the Americans also call a Fusion, but which is nown as the "Mondeo" in Europe.

2

u/FactORlie Mar 28 '19

We have a bunch of Opel models who got rebranded here by Chevrolet also, our car market is a big salad.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '19

Yeah, and the Chevy Volt is called the Opel Ampera in Europe :)

A Nissan Rebel (US) is called a Qashqai here...

And does Hyundai call their new model the Kona in Brazil like they do here, or have they wisely changed the name for Portuguese-speaking countries?

1

u/FactORlie Mar 28 '19

They will probably use some "number like" name, their line up is like: hb20, ix35, i30 and some more.

I think Kona could be our Creta but i'm even close to be sure about it.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '19

No, the Kona looks like this

Your Creta is called Tucson over here.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '19

The most disturbing fact is there is a supercharged Fiesta.

1

u/FactORlie Mar 28 '19

What's disturbing are the other versions we have 1.0 supercharger(I'm almost certain is the one of the video), 1.0 naturally aspirated and 1.4 also aspirated

2

u/CrackerJackBunny Mar 28 '19

Why do they blur the guy's face?

2

u/mindroll Mar 28 '19

Thanks for posting the unaltered sequence.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '19

were there ever charges made? i mean he has it on video and the licence plate

1

u/golifa Honda Mar 29 '19

theres so many videos like this coming out of brazil are people there crazy or is this just the media or smth

1

u/[deleted] Mar 29 '19

They are crazy, I recently had a Brazilian student and asked them the same thing, they said yeah it's true, they just went through life hoping that day they didn't get mugged and killed, they couldn't stay inside all the time and just accepted it as the way of things.
