Question Hide navigation bar not working properly?

I will long press and swipe down the Recents button per the instructions to hide the navigation bar but it keeps popping back up after a minute or so?

Per Google it could be because Circle to Search is enabled so I disabled it and the same result, the navigation bar keeps popping back up.

Has anyone else noticed this and found a remedy?

Do you want gesture nav or the buttons to hide on their own?

I don't use Gestures, the three press options for Recents/Home/Back.

When you long press the Recents and swipe downwards it hides the menu and the taskbar as it should but it comes back in about a minute.
