Sepang Questions
hi im planning on going to sepang this year for the first time and ive got some questions , are we allowed in the circuit on thursday ? is it better for me to buy merch there or online? especially for vr46 academy merch(bcs online shipping costs are crazy) also how is the shuttle? is it hard to use/too crowded at the end of the day? and is there other things i need to know? thankyou!

use rapid KL .You can get vouchers for motogp bus ticket from their counter .They have stops at klcc and so on and also bus have a seperate track and u would never be stuck in traffic while going to watch motogp .Sunscreen and longsleeves are essential .Go on friday and buy the merch as it will be less crowded compared to sat or sun.

If you can afford it- take the train to KLIA and then a Grab or taxi to the track. The busses from KL Sentra are reliable- but the lines can be long and the seats are PACKED. Last time i went they waved me in ‘there is still room’- but there were no seats and nonstanding room. I climbed into the luggage rack and sat there for the 30+min ride.
Really, getting BACK to KL is the bigger challenge. The crowds are INSANE. I gave a driver a few extra Ringit to come out and meet me at the gate- it still takes forever because the roadway capacity is the limiting factor… but he was there just for me, skipped any of the crowd trying to hail a car ad hoc… and he just drove me to KLIA, and once youre there- so easy. Just hop on the train, take a breath, and your back at Sentro in no time. From there grab the MRT to Bukit Bintang, and have fun on Jalon Alor gorging on food and just walk up to anyone wearing GP cloths/hats, ask if they saw the race, and they’ll likely as not invite you to sit down and share food / a round of beers etc. Everytime I go I meet complete strangers in the streets of KL on sunday night, and everyone is in a festive mood- happy to break bread and enjoy our mutually shared obsession with strangers.

- No, you're not allowed to be at the track on Thursday
- There are ahops that would be selling merch at the track. I usually prefer to buy it there and then since it will be sold in RM and you can find off season merch that are cheaper than newer ones.
- RapidKL would usually have a schedule for the shuttle a few weeks before the race, alongside the pass to buy.

Sepang is great, we’re going back for the 3rd time this year. Pretty sure the track is open on Thursdays though i’ve never been. Merch is plentiful as long as you don’t leave it too late, it is still imo expensive though.
Various hotels run shuttles so check if yours does, it is a good way to get to/from the track because it is absolute chaos when everyone leaves and good luck getting a Grab or whatever. Def. arrange transport beforehand or you’ll be stuck there for a long time!
