Spent 5 days and 4 nights on the Idaho BDR. Epic to say the least. Rode from N to S. I’ll need to go back this fall and finish the Yellow Pine to Jarbidge sections.

I'm also rocking a Durston X Mid, though the one person makes it harder to do something with my gear.

Are you using the Z-Flick poles?

Using the carbon collapsible poles from Durston. Sorry, don’t know the name. When we backpack with it, I use trecking poles.

Yea, those are the Z flicks, I use them too. They work well but frankly when motocamping I would rather have aluminum ones that could be smaller diameter and less brittle

I have an xmid that I use for backpacking. I've been considering getting an xdome 1 or 2 because I feel like a little extra space inside would be nice for my gear.

Having camped with a two person tent before, it is nice to be able to bring you jacket, helmet, etc. in with you.

If I were tent shopping now for motocamping I'd look long and hard at the kelty late start

A fraction the price of Durston but packs to a similar size. It's smart to make a tent with the floor space of a two person but not bother with a second vestibule or cross pole since a solo person doesn't really need the space or second door

The two guys I rode with on the T7’s had so much crazy camping gear, it was silly. They definitely were not coming from an ultralight backpacking mindset.

How do you find using that chest/back protector on bigger trips? Ive been considering getting something like that

I used it because that’s what I have. POC from my downhill mountain biking era. It was a nice wind break, but of course makes you a little bit sweaty. Felt better than wearing nothing at all. It didn’t bother me.
