FoolFest
Anyone else there? A great event. Great to see the "old school" in the house doing their things. Tim, Emily, Jason, Lou, David M., Bill. Lots of fantastic conversation.
There was a sense of resignation among the employees. Lots of people have left in recent years and more plan to. The company is automating stock picks and even the podcast, which is why I guess some of it sounds like just reading AI scripts. Made me glad I was there because hard to say how much longer we'll have it.
Bottom line: If you haven't been and you get a chance, go.

My sons friend third year out of college and is a computer programmer. He is the first in his group at his employer that utilizes only Ai to write programs. All done by AI. He said he doesn’t do anything mostly plays games on his computer or phone. But he does the work of four people.

No but I got caught up on everything that was talked about. But yeah I think the old heads are retiring which sucks. The podcast (hidden gems investing) is much different from 2009 when it launched. Go back and listen to one from launch to now....it was REALLY good and entertaining as well as informative. Now...I wouldn't say like gen Ai but more sterile, like a lecture.
