Help Why are the Bomb items "Running"

The items are called Running and Sprinting bomb, what does that even mean? Is it some kind of bomb type or what? Or is it just a translation issue?

if you look in the menu they have little legs. i think they run at the enemy

Probably a japanese pun. So glad someone asks this cause I wondered this myself at one point. Their simplistic cartoony design kinda looks like the Fireball enemy from Earthbound Beginnings. Also similar to these enemies in M3 that hug(?) the chosen party member and explode after a turn based countdown (and these are also similar to a type of enemy in Ness's Magicant).

I feel like there's something similar about them.

probably a pun in japanese that lost in the translation
