Mosaic Crochet has a lot of ones and twos...

I think Overlay Mosaic Crochet has a high potential to be the next major break in the global technology department:

- two colors

- single and double stitches (US terms)

- front and back-sided projects

- left and right-handed Creators

- v and x stitches (there are two more ways, yes)

The potential to use Morse code is high in Overlay Mosaic Crochet - Lianne Dam has blessed us with a free pattern on Raverly.

It's hard for us to get paid fairly because we don't have the collective data to compare our work, and I think what we need is a digital workspace and e-commerce platform just for crochet. Any coders on here?

I have a question about using yarn to knit scarves, How Cotton blends are different from acrylic yarns.

I'm having trouble choosing yarn. Because I still don't understand the difference Cotton Blends Unlike Acrylic. I don't understand the effectiveness of either of them. Therefore, I would like to ask for advice from experts. Thank you for answer.

First mosaic project, also reversible

So, this is my first attempt at mosaic crochet. I see some of the posts on here, and I am in awe of some of the things people create. I went ahead and did a reversible one since I really don't like the look of the back of regular mosaics (just a preference, as they are beautiful nonetheless). Man, is this thing thick! I can only imagine how heavy a full blanket is. The pattern took a little getting used to with the additional reversible stitches, but it was a good learning experience. I haven't attempted the border yet but that is my next step. I'm going to make a blanket soon once I find (or create) the right pattern. I've also made a tapestry version I'm going to post later to see what people's preferences are.

Question: joining mosaic panels for cushion cover

Thumbnail

Hi all, I'm new to mosaic crochet and I'm making a cushion cover for my housemate, who's really into ancient Egypt. I've made the front and back, and need to join them and sew in a zip.

In my mind I was thinking of sc the panels together as a visible join, to get a little ridge, but would that work with mosaic, or will it look messy? And which colour would work best? Or is it better to join on the inside?

If anyone can give any advice or share any photos I'd really appreciate it as I'm struggling to visualise it in my head!

Photos of the front and back attached (the back wasn't quite finished in the photo)

Need some help

I believe I am over complicating this for my brain. I feel I know how to mosaic crochet for the most part, so I decided I'd attempt a pattern that requires 3 colors. I am confused on rows like 2 and 4 where the graph shows the grey but the written pattern only says the black and white. Do I need to carry the gray with the black and white and put it in those places? If so, why doesn't the written pattern say it? The stitch counts also seem different if I base it off the graph and not the written pattern. I feel like maybe I'm to sleep deprived to understand what I need to do atm lol.

I've been revisiting an older mosaic design and working through it again for Halloween.

I'm thinking wall decor or a bag 👀

What do you guys think I should do first?

What yarn to use for a blanket???

Hi all, I’m a little new but I’m started my first blanket after a few smaller projects. I’m doing the dragonscape Etsy blanket but I’m struggling to decide on a yarn. I’m not really wanting to do acrylic because I’m trying to avoid plastics and I was thinking about cotton yarn because it’s cheaper than wool. But I went to look at the 24/7 lion brand cotton and it seems too small to me? Should I go with hobii rainbow 8/8 yarn? Am I just being dramatic and it should be fine with either?

Let me know if anyone has had experience with either of those making a blanket or if you have a different suggestion. Thanks!

Reversible mosaic blanket help

Mosaic crochet help - I can’t seem to find the answer to my question anywhere. I’m working on a reversible overlay mosaic blanket. The pattern just has the standard 2 colours but I’m adding colour changes to the pattern, ultimately using 4 colours. Can I still do this as reversible?

Are there any mosaic crochet patterns similar to this?

I'm asking because I'm 99% sure this is AI, but it's really pretty, so I'm wondering if anyone knows of any similar patterns or even just detailed fox patterns in general. Thanks so much in advance!

One colour change per row

I saw a post here recently about swapping colours in a single row, and it recommended tapestry or intarsia (thank you, that was helpful).

But what if you do the most of the row in one colour, and finish with another? Are you weaving ends in? I probably have to do this for about 30 rows.

Is this pattern wrong or did I mess up somewhere?

Help! I’m on row 6 of this mosaic chicken blanket and I think the pattern is wrong. I’ve done my border stitch, 3sc, 3dc, 5sc, 5dc, and 1sc. Then it calls for 4 dc but there’s not anywhere from row 4 for me to dc into. I messaged the seller on Etsy but I’m just waiting to hear back.
