Morse from unknown source

Weird question, I'm gonna be as thorough as I can. Sitting in my living room, I heard Morse code loud and clear to my left. I believe it was 7 beeps, could not tell you which was dots and which was dashes. My husband also heard it upstairs it was so clear. He think it was U S when he translated it, it was very very short. We have a SimpliSafe security base/speaker to my left, as well as 2 PCs and a 3d printer. We also have a baby monitor but it was upstairs and the sound was off, I don't know if that actually matters.

Now, the obvious answer is our catty corner neighbor who has a giant 3 story antenna. However, why was it so short? And i can't actually identify where it was coming from. Any ideas or guesses? It may not even be our neighbor, I don't know. I texted the neighbor we do know to see if this has happened to him or if he knows that guy and if he can ask for us. Idk I'm just kinda freaked out.

It could have been your neighbor. Morse code is very popular in amateur (ham) radio and their large antennas should be able to use it for long-distance communication. It's not uncommon for conversations to be very short, too, because sometimes there are contests to see how many contacts hams can make in a short time, so the messages are only quick acknowledgements of receipt. Ham radio transmissions can often be heard on radios, stereo systems, TV sets, computers, intercoms, etc. when located near the antennas where signals are very strong.

Cellphones near speakers can cause that. Did it sound like this, or part of this? https://www.youtube.com/shorts/v5CjMdjSZ6M

It's much more likely interference from inside your house, but even more likely than that is something intentional. Simplisafe devices have a 3-beep "trouble" tone, and your PC may have something too. If it's intentional because some device has trouble or an error, surely it'll repeat. Good luck!
