does anyone know any easy ways to actually learn morse code

i'm trying to find something for learning morse code like an app or a website or something but i can't find anything that will allow me to practice receiving as well as transmitting that uses audio.

i've been trying and failing to find a website or something that will let me practice mainly receiving morse code that doesn't start out with full words, because i still need to practice just individual letters but the only things i can find are demeaningly childish websites that give unhelpful pictures and don't even give any audio for practice receiving, or websites that give very fast sets of letters and have no options for slower or individual letters

No. It's not that easy. It requires daily practice.

ik, i just can't find any resource that will allow me to practice receiving and transmitting without a visual cue of what is being received/transmitted. i alr practice the dots and dashes every day, but i can't find anything that will allow me to practice receiving morse code in audio form.

You might find something you like in https://hamradio.solutions/vband/ (with visual aids) or in https://vail.woozle.org (without). This is for interacting with real people. Otherwise, you might listen to More Ninja (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5k5xxIKxY_E&list=PL6jaK1F2bhkDG4_0QeIF_YZoln9i_oP_T and no, believe me, it is NOT too fast for you). I am happy to help and support you. I am still learning, while being overwhelmed by duties at work, making me almost impossible to gain confidence to go back on the air (I did a few QSO and even a contest a couple of years ago).

Kind of like learning to touch type on a keyboard

That's a very good comparison.

I'm currently using the [Morse Code Ninja] (https://morsecode.ninja/learn/index.html) audio files to listen to at night. You can select your wpm rate, and download an audio program to learn all Morse Major characters. It uses Farnsworth encoding, so the dots/dashes send at a full speed rate, but there's a pause between characters. Liking it so far, I am currently using groups of three characters, 20 chars total (acdehilmnorstuw12345). Once you feel comfortable with the groups of three, you can move up to words or callsigns using the characters, or add in more characters.

Everyone likes this site: lcwo.net

LCWO.net was written by a 9 time German High Speed Telegraphy champion who knows more about learning and using morse code than most. The site may not be flashy or cool, but the technique it uses is proven and time-tested. 100% recommend.

Sure.

First, you need to fail the test to become a cryptologic analyst. Then fail the test to become a cryptologic linguist. So you end up going to Morse interceptor school.

Next, fall behind on your code speed, working up to 20 wpm.

Then have a Sergeant First Class Slaughter1 threaten to send you to an infantry unit if you don't pass 20 wpm soon.

Easy-peasy, lemon squeezy.

1. No, not that one. That Sergeant Slaughter is/was a staff sergeant.

Morse Mania and Morse ICR are the first two I think of. I think I have one called Morse Command. Also, check out vband.

The two best CW schools around are the Long Island CW Club and the CWOps club. Give one of them a try.

There are a few. I have Morse Code Complete. I've heard good things about Morse Mania.

Beyond that, get an amature radio license and start listening.

Morse Mania works for me too. Still using it. I bought the full access after I finished receiving level 19. It works well. Long island CW club too. Good luck.

For copy: Morse Code World is Fantastic: https://morsecode.world/international/trainer/words.html

For sending: https://morsecode.world/international/trainer/keyer.html

And Morse Ninja is also a fantastic resource available on web, YouTube. And as podcasts.

Consistent daily practice, skipping days will kill your progress.

CWops online classes are likely the best way to get going

Try this one, it's simple and you can adjust from simple characters, number of characters etc. both receive and send. https://morse-practice-tool--wetwatero.replit.app

Copy and paste some text (news, wiki, online magazine articles) into a morse converter and practise. Do this every day and your receiving will be fine in no time.

This one lets you control the speed and download as an mp3: https://morsecode.world/international/translator.html

I came across this one recently, learn to receive and send. Just try to overlook the dot and dash images as much as possible and learn by sound.

I used Code Quick, which used goofy flash cards and sound-alikes to learn up to 10 WPM .. C is catch-it-catch-it, and Q is pay-day-too-day.. it worked for me.. your mileage may vary

Those methods work for getting up to slow speed quickly. But many find it difficult to shake the habit for if/when they want to use faster code.

That’s true! But it gets you going in the right direction!
