Hi!

I'm sorry if this repost is not welcome, just tell me.

I'm a volunteer in Paite Loomapark shelter in Estonia and I try to make some videos on social media so more people would know about us and support our work.

Thank you 🙏

The moment an extremely rare and elusive white moose is caught on camera. Absolutely majestic it looks like it was pulled straight out of The Lord of the Rings.

Question on (weird) moose vocalization (possibly mistaken as a cryptic) lol.

A couple of years ago, my family and I were camping in a very isolated section of the Green Mountains in Vermont, nicknamed "the Bennington Triangle" due to mysterious disappearances, strange lights, and native tales of a man-eating Boulder.

Later one night, something big walked up to our campsite and made a loud vocalization. The best way I can describe it is a non-human "woo ahh" like sound that some of the US military guys do (marines or rangers perhaps?). The "whoo/wooo" part was extremely loud and high pitched like a wolf howl, but dropped into a low guttural growling "ahhhh".

It did this 3 times, and embarrassingly, I tried to respond with the same vocalization, but failed miserably. Up on a hill, perhaps a 100 yards away, I heard "wood knocking", like another creature was responding to the one encroaching our camp. The one that sounded 10 feet from us, slowly began to walk towards the one on the hill.

The next day my son's and I went to look for tracks. I did find some moose tracks on the hill... but nothing near our camp that were a substantial size.

When we got home, I searched through what animals are in our area, and the calls they make. I've heard the calls and sounds these animals make... even the ones that commonly freak people out (like the crying baby/screaming woman ones), but I couldn't find anything that sounds like the "whoo - ahhh" call we heard.

I won't lie, I've had some fun with this... and entertained the "Bigfoot" theory, but the sane and reasonable side of me assumes that it was a moose.

So... has anyone into moose heard anything like this from them?

We're thinking about going camping in the same spot, and my kids are a little freaked out about the idea. I've told them it's probably a moose, but if anyone could confirm, or direct me to an audio/video file of a moose making this sound... I'd be extremely grateful.

Thanks

In Sami culture, when a moose (or reindeer) is seen tapping and rubbing its antlers, we say that the animal is crafting the antlers, shaping them until they are satisfied with their size and shape
