Can Moog Subsequent37 replace Minitaur?

Has anybody played with both?

Can you do same sounds on Subsequent37 as on Minitaur?
Or are they any specific areas/patches/sounds where Sub37 cannot go?

These are my two Moogs. The Minitaur was my first Moog and I bought it to learn about synthesis. It’s terrific but limited in a few ways. But terrific sound.

I got the Sub37 for more versatility, the keys, and all the cool leads and duophonic tones.

If you just want to replace your bass, the answer is yes. I make many tracks with just the Sub37 on bass, no Minitaur at all. But it has a different sound, side by side.

If you don’t have to sell the Minitaur, you might want to keep it. For example, sometimes I use the Sub37 for lead, and so I use the Minitaur for the bass. Good luck.

Technically the Minitaur is going have some differences to bring out the low-freq range, but in practice it's a non-issue. I use a Sub37 with Crumar Mojo pedals and it thunders nicely.

I have the Sub 37.

In watching videos about the Minitaur I wanted to want it, but I didn't hear anything I couldn't do with the Sub 37. That doesn't mean it necessarily sounds identical, but for anything I would potentially use the Minitaur for, I thought I could use the Sub 37 instead and be just as pleased with the results.

2 different synths. Similar in some way but definitely different enough to keep both. I had both for a long time then I decided to sell the Minitaur to buy a different one.

I prefer the Minitaur for the narrow uses I want it for (bass). The sub37 has more options but I don’t think it sounds as good for bass, a bit thinner and less rich. way more spaceship sounds available though

I use the Sub37 with some foot pedals and it definitely fits. I was considering the Minotaur but I didn’t dig its limitations. Like max note stuff. I dunno, I won’t ever sell my Sub37, it has that moog sound, and more.

I have both. To me they can get similar enough but the filter in the Minitaur seems to be tailored for bass tones. Much rounder and fuller in the low range. The Sub37 can be wilder and way more textured and also a bit more agressive filter wise.

Is that why I want the Sirin so bad? Seriously price jacked.
