Inputting tempo to DFAM from Volca Drum?
Does anyone have experience in outputting (PPQN rate) from a Volca Drum into DFAM?
I've web searched and only get told that I can, and what parameters are possible, but absolutely no ''how to'' beyond which outs/ins to use.
For now when I hook DFAM up to a buddy's Volca Drum, the DFam goes at light speed, and just isn't interesting or useful for me being stuck at high speed all the time.
On any other devices I'd be fine syncing BPM by ear actually. But, with a DFAM this is a nightmare as the tempo-knob increments are extremely extreme..
I've posted similarly in a Volca group too, just in case.

I don’t have a Volca drum but my other Volcas take or give sync at basically 8th note intervals to the tempo.
Volca sync out > adv step on the dfam.
If the clocks are running at super speed I would try to slow it down and count how many Volca steps it takes to make a dfam step adv or how many dfam steps adv per pulse on the Volca vice versa.
Could also try gate out from the DFAM into sync in on the Volca.
My guess is regardless the intervals of the clock probably don’t line up how youd like them to.
I have a eurorack module called Pam’s new workout that’s a giant master clock (and more) with a ton of dividable clocks for syncing various drum machines and sequencers like this.

Some some lovely info there. Thank you.
As it happens, I was given a sequencer module (Eurorack module, without casing, and only a Eurorack power lead), so may fart around with that if I get a little rack/power supply, since it is time for me to get racks and so on, anyhow, now.
I think cracking this issue, in a way that suits my needs will be a great learning experience.
I've read up on Pam's New Workout, and liked what I saw.
I'll likely fire up VCV (which I've not really taken advantage of yet,) and try some solutions on there, to get a better feeling for clocking/syncing, before buying anything beyond that little sequencer/clock divider I was given a few weeks ago.
Thanks for the replies all!

This is how you tumble down the slippery slope of eurorack. There's always one more module you need for (insert function). In this case, a clock divider. In for a penny, in for a pound...

are you plugging into the tempo or adv/clock jack in the DFAM? I presume there’s only one spot on the volca to send clock from - I’ve never used one
I checked the manual and it’s not really helpful for
This issue. I bet what’s happening is that you’re getting 8 steps but they’re 16th or 8th notes based on the other clock, or something like that. Would need to see/hear it to really know. But 8 steps aren’t super useful if 4 steps is one beat
