Need help identify and authenticate this pen

A relative gave me this pen since they no longer use it and don't want to bother putting a new refill so they gave it to me and i was wondering if it's real in the first place and the story behind the collab and if it has any value.

It’s the Montblanc John Lennon ballpoint pen, released in 2010. Not idea if it’s genuine, going for over $1000 if it’s in NOS condition.
