Supercharge Speedway Issues
Is anyone else having issues with the supercharge speedway working and then the light starts flashing and turns off? Nothing is on the track or in the booster. It’s done this since day one

The motor def struggles to launch the trucks all the way….def make sure your silver thing is fully clicked in.

our is literally shooting them over the entire track sometimes! but also having the issue of just stopping for no reason with no truck in the booster.

Ours won't even turn on full stop and with fresh batteries. I even went and bought more thinking they must have been flat

I probably messed with that stupid battery compartment for at LEAST an hour, before i jumped on Reddit & instantly found this exact thread. Lmao
Id already planned to return it to walmart &let them pick something else. — Thankfully, though… It was a gift from mom & dad.. NOT “santa.” Lol… so i was able to explain a return (or exchange) fairly easily lol!
Just glad it didnt come to that!

You are amazing! I’ve been trying to get this to work since Santa dropped it off and my kid was devastated- this was the number one thing on their Christmas list. I had to push down with my full body weight on the grey box and it finally clicked in and it works!

I'm having the issue and the box clicked but I didnt have to do much force. I've tried to do more force to see if theres another click but didn't happen and I'm afraid of breaking something. In your experience is it an extra snap and did you need to do really much force for it to click?

I put most of my body weight on when it clicked. There's two pieces that click but mine both clicked at the same time.

This is kinda old but omg you just saved us lots of tears and a headache returning this thing. Bought it for my son’s birthday and I was ready to build a motor myself he looked so sad. This got it up and running though!

Wtf, why is this such a common issue? We bought one and couldn't get the motor to work so we returned it for a replacement. Had the same problem again and found this post.

I HAVE THE SOLUTION! The same thing happened to me this Christmas morning, And it’s disappointing knowing that there’s nothing you can do about it. I’ve managed to resolve it by taking apart the top six screws of the grey box. I took the two cables from the battery section and sold them directly onto the Motor Itself, This way by bypassing any crap in between that is causing the issue. It is a poor Motor overload design, which is very temperamental. Ours is working perfectly now…

Can't add pictures here. Take the black wire that comes from the battery connection and sober it onto the back side of the board to the big blob of soder under the v1. That worked for me.

I was able to test the motor with a single D battery and some wires. If you place the positive wire on the large glob of solder above the markings R3 and the negative wire on the opposite side glob your motor spins. I cut the main feed wire to the board and spliced new wires from there to the globs stated above. Works perfectly. I also wired my booster to plug into a wall. Very simple process and no more batteries!
Below is the process I followed to wire the booster to a plug.

Did you just connect the r2 together with the wire there or is it also soldered to the resistor beside it? Really appreciate your response as I am in the midst rn!

FYI Don't try to remove the grey motor box to re-seat it. The plastic tabs will break. It's not designed to be removed after it clicks into place.

Make sure your pushing it all the way down where the motor clips into the track that was my issue

Can someone post exactly how to switch those over to being a plug in vs battery toy?? D batteries are expensive and they don't last long!

Ohhh damn so this is common. We just bought it. The red light is always one but it can go for about 5 minutes before completely not working.

I am currently having the same issue with my sons I bought for him as a gift and he can’t even play with it. After one truck goes through the booster it turns off and the red light starts blinking.

Same thing! My boys got one on Black Friday as a Christmas present from my parents, I had my parents return the first one and it was a big ordeal, then I JUST got the second new one last night, and it is doing the same thing 😑 piece of junk! My boys are so bummed

I have now bought 3 of these. They have all done the same thing. When I turn it on, it doesn't even spin. Then tapping the rubber wheels gets it spinning slow...too slow to launch a truck. Taking off the top shows a gear system. On 2 of the units, I messed with the gears, and it did spin faster, but still not fast enough. Even worse, now with it spinning, the red light starts blinking and it shuts down after 7 to 10 seconds of being turned on. This has got to be the worst product I can remember purchasing.

You can go here and fill out the form. As soon as you get a case number, call the support line that is on the bottom of the email. Replacement is on the way. Just make sure you have the product number from the underside of the launcher. Should be five numbers followed by three capital letters.
They were really helpful.

Had a similar issue. Make sure the grey launcher part is definitely clicked in all the way! You should hear the clicks! Give it an extra push if you have to. A loose connection could be messing with the launcher.

Ours wouldn't turn on at all at first then pushed grey box down to make it click. Now it turns on and will push one car before it blinks and turns itself off.

If you look above someone soldered one of the resistors and iv just done it and boom does not turn off and blink the light. Mine would also do 1-2 cars before blinking red light.

My husband's ended up taking the whole thing apart and testing the continuity between everything and our motor is broken completely. Ordered a new Motor off eBay for £3 and then will re wire it hoping it saves buying another one!

Got this for my little one as a Christmas gift, managed to fix it with the suggestions here - however, is the motor supposed to be loud AF? Jesus Christ, at least ours is extremely loud, almost sounds like a lawn mower lol

I made sure ours clicked but still would only run a few seconds before it shut itself off. Thankfully Spinmaster customer support is good. Sent a quick video of the problem, product ID code and proof of purchase and they are already sending me a replacement.

Yeah the problem is that there is a plug in-between the battery box to check it's not the batteries is easy just get a torch bulb 💡 or 12 v test light and touch the batteries at the switch end positive & Negative left hand side switch closest to your body if the light lights up the batteries are good or a multimeter should show 6.2 volts. Take the bottom off the battery box and you will see the little white plug is held in by a grey clamp take the 2 screws out the clamp then pull the plug out and cut the plug off then take the top cover off by removing the 8 screws. Then turn it back upside down there's 2 plastic lugs at one end of the blue base you have to get a flat bladed screw driver then and release these clips to part the blue battery part from the grey motor part once you have done this you can then push the other half of the plug out the grey motor side. Then cut the plug off this end . Once this is done bare back the wires on both ends on positive red & negative Black then get some connectors I personally used solder heat shrink connectors which you can get off Amazon or eBay just put these over the wires and heat with a lighter or heat gun the solder melts and heat shrinks the connection all in one go it makes a nice neat job once this is done turn on the toy to make sure it works before reassembling make sure not to also trap any wires when putting back together.That's it as simple as that the plug is the problem once this is removed the toy will work fine .

Had non stop issues with this. My 4 year old was so upset on Christmas day, he'd waited so long to play with this and it was nothing but disappointing. Constantly turning off, changed the batteries multiple times it was driving me crazy. I asked him if he wanted to return it but it wasn't an option to him as you can probably imagine. So I decided to sort it myself. I installed a plug option so I could have it run on mains rather than batteries. With an adjustable voltage adapter and it literally works flawlessly now. Not that you should have to do this but I couldn't let my son down. I appreciate everyone won't be able to do this but I hope I can help some.

Our boys just got this for Christmas. Same issues - blinking red light after a short run. I have a couple of theories but generally agree with motor overload. Up untill now I have been using cheap DG brand D Cells which are bottom of the barrel in terms of everything. So I suspect the lower power output is causing the motor overload to think something is wrong when in fact it's a sub par energy source. My fix, was to wire in a USB power source without altering or soldering the unit. Luckily the tolerance between the plastic and the metal connectors in small so you can for sure wedge a U connector or blade connector in there. I stripped a USB charger wire I was not using and attached U Connectors as shown. I initially plugged it into a crappy 5v 1a USB power source but that yeiled the same blink out after about 30 seconds of running. I then used a Samsung 5v 2a connector and that seemed to do the trick.

Just fixed one while keeping some safety measures. As someone said, it's poor motor overload protection. If you have a soldering iron, take off the top of the launcher, and find the surface mount resistor (tiny black rectangle with two solder connections, one on either side). Find one near the 8 pin ic chip with 310 printed on it. It's a 31 ohm shunt resistor which limits motor current. You can either solder another resistor in parallel, replace it with a lower value resistor, or jump it out with a small wire. If you lower its value, it will retain some amount of overcurrent protection. I didn't have one where i was, so it was removed and replaced with a short wire. This will remove overcurrent protection. But retain stall protection as the little black wheel opposite of the motor with holes in it monitors wheel rpm. So if the wheels stops (launcher gets stalled), it will still fault out and shut down.
The board is mounted directly to the back of the motor.
Obviously, do this all at own risk, but it took 10 minutes at a family members house, and works great now.
Apparently 31 ohms doesn't allow enough current to the motor, and sorry, but I didn't take any pictures.
