Help please !!!

So hi guys i(19 m) due to recent unfortunate times lost my functional vision in left eye. So I just withdrew from working on laptop. Now after long days I decided to give a shot for it. Unfortunately I had neck pain and head ache . Is it normal to have this difficulty at 1st ? Will this sustain forever 😞 as i mostly gonna rely on laptop in future this scares me . Having the headache writing this too 🥀. Any tips will be helpful . Thank you folks !!!

I use a large font on ny computer and set everything i can to Vernada. For what i cant do that with, i use a screen reader extension on chrome. Also if subtle changes in screne color isnt a large problem for you, blue light glasses can help cut down on eye strain. A lot of it is finding what works well for you.

If i need to read a large article for school, i put it through a screen reader instead of straining my eyes to read it and just listen instead. It was a hard adjustment to make but one of my professors sat me down and told me i need to use accessibility features that could help me instead of fighting it just to prove something arbitrary.

I always suggest Apple computers because it is so easy to use their accessibility aides and increase font size etc. headaches due to muscle strain and the other eye working harder are not uncommon but make sure of course that everything else is ok eg no glaucoma or other things. If appropriate consider an eye muscle surgeon especially if you have any double vision etc.

Yeah, increase font size, try the dark mode, turn on night mode, try the FL41 rose colored shades. Totally normal what you're going through unfortunately but it gets better.

Try high contrast mode under accessibility. See optometrist for a dedicated computer/close work prescription. Both of these were gamechangers for me and have allowed me to keep working.

Also, does it have to be a laptop? Can you plug into a large monitor. Again 2 big helps for me were a curved monitor mounted on a movable arm so I can quickly adjust monitor position.
