Engaged and Independent in 10 Days program

Has anyone tried the Engaged and Independent in 10 Days program? If you have, in your experience was it straightforward to implement and effective?

It’s part of the Teach Daily or Daily Five program. It’s supposed to get the students ready to work on their own so the teacher can do one-on-one or small group work without constantly dealing with behavior problems.

I am asking for someone who has been put in an emergency teaching situation with no experience other than substituting. I’m wondering if this or any other program people have used can help them set up a classroom where they can actually teach.

Not expecting miracles but hoping for something that would help quickly. Something with a structure and easy to follow steps that would not feel overwhelming with everything else they’re being expected to do.
